This article explains the effects alcohol has on a person's health, both the positive and the negative. It discusses the negatives alcohol has on the body and mind but also the positives it can have on the heart. When discussing alcohol usually only the negative side is discussed, this article gives a different viewpoint of the topic.

It emphasizes the benefits of right-brained thinking. The authors relate to Daniel Pink's idea of the Conceptual Age. They discuss how art fosters empathetic thinking that is crucial to the future generation.

Without proper communication and presentation skills, the learning process can often be effected negatively.

It also gives a large amount of information about cultural literacy in relation to physical education.

Article talks about a 12 week study with students rangeing from 16-17 yrs old. It goes on to talk about the effects that music had on them and the comments made from the psychologist and educational researchers. Talks about how music therapy works, informs the therapeutic benifits, and talks about therapy within a school setting.

Unique teaching methods may also prove to be useful when it comes to physical education.

This article is about research that studied the nutritional knowledge of college athletes. Despite popular belief that college athletes are well aware of nutrition, this research indicates that the nutritional knowledge of college athletes is minimal. The research was conducted on student athletes at Southern university. The student athletes were tested on of current dietary recommendations, sources of nutrients, healthy food choices, and the relationship between diet and disease processes. The research showed that majority of athletes at Southern university had healthy attitudes about eating behaviors, however had little knowledge.

Articals teaches how music can be used as a "technology" towards health healing and recovery. Study was conducted on 22 people ages 34-65 with long term illnesses and diseases. 

Artical talks about the impact music has on the brains development. It also explains the connection between musical structure and cognitive activity.

This article talks about how promoting storytelling in the classroom helps promote children's creativity and originality. The teacher should encourage stroytelling acitivities and to prompt the kids to tell their made up story without influencing the content. Teachers should aslo send home copies of their stories so they can tell their story again at home. It is good for the kids to learn at school and then take what they have learned home with them, like with storytelling.

This article talks about the need for people to better understand their finances and how to avoid a financial crisis. This article gives supporting facts on the number of people who are identified as financially literate and gives percentages. There are also many barriers in trying to move toward a way to measure financial literacy and talks about the importance of finding a way to measure financial literacy.

Media is a means of persuasion. When used by a strict government it can be a way of persuading citizens to do or not do something. Through stereotypes the mass media can be used to change public sentiment towards whatever the producers of this media would like. This can be helpful or hurtful to a nation. Through the discussion of this topic it shows the reader examples of this. Specifically it talks about the Middle East and the Israeli conflict.

Even though it is an old article it stills has great ideas on how groups of people can communicate. Good source for the communication between teams.

It goes through recent history looking at things that have impacted the amount of influence of the arts. The influence of budget cuts is one issue discussed. Budget cuts lead to art teachers and programs being cut. In general the authors try to emphasize the benefits of the arts to individuals. They use a quote from Bill Gates at the beginning to start off the article and enforce this point.

This article describes how art can motivate students. Hickman discusses the detachment students sometimes feel from their studies and how art can help engage them. The article specifically examines leadership activities in art. It consists of observations of these activities being carried out. The piece proves how these activities ultimately build confidence in individuals.
