This article gives ideas on how to use interactive boards in the classroom. Every class this year received a new updated smart panel. It is my job through professional development to encourage use and train the staff on the use of the new panels. This article will give them many ideas to integrate the use into their teaching.

I found many items on this site that would be useful for language arts teachers in particular, but really for any subject area. I could use some of the ideas myself. One example is a summer readling list. I have compiled many good lists from various sources every year and posted on my library pages, but this is a good example of the type of thing that could save some time by not re-inventing the wheel! Found useful link to using Diigo as well.

I was looking for ideas to add to our immigration unit. This was full of ideas! I found 7 different lesson plans that contained videos, text, hands on research/analyzing/presenting activities complete with rubrics! The one I found most interesting was looking more at current immigration issues, and with countries bordering the US.

My 4th and 5th graders last year were really into the Percy Jackson series. There are lots of lesson plans and ideas here that could be used to build on that interest and connect with multiple subject areas while doing so.

This A to Z of Creativity and Innovation Techniques, provides an introduction to a range of tools and techniques for both idea generation (Creativity) and converting those ideas into reality (Innovation). Like most tools these techniques all have their good and bad points.

Illustrated story introduces students to basic nutrition,proper food handling, and other healthy ideas while reading a mystery about disappearing spinach in a beaver's garden.

I think that this OER is interesting. In a collaborative effort with the Chemistry department, these idea could be put into place. Often times, students are only able to read about dangerous chemicals to their danger factor of having them in schools. By sharing this reality app with the teachers in the Chemistry department, we could bring new experiences to the students. I'm excited to try this one out!

I currently teach fourth grade, which we know is all about Wisconsin! This is something that I would use with my fourth graders because it is an interactive digital graphic organizer. I don't think that it just has to be used for Wisconsin biographies because there are many different chart to choose from.
