I agree with what many people have said above. I think something like this would be very beneficial to the Tam News and would attract more viewers of the site and readers of the magazine. I know that people enjoy watching the video announcements that leadership has done, and leadership benefitted from the publicity and getting the word out to the students.

This is just the kind of thing that shows the negative aspects of social media. Although the intent for these types of apps and sites is to be a positive ways to interact and connect with friends, the fact that users still to (ab)use it in this way is disappointing and sad. From all the previous scandals that have been publicized, it's surprising to me that people are still engaging in these types of behaviors. I think that is more the individuals responsibility for exposing themselves more than it is Snapchat's because they are objectifying themselves to all the possible consequences when they choose to send photos.

I agree with what many others have said above. As great as newspapers and magazines are, I think it's clear that they are moving towards becoming obsolete. Especially as younger generations are born into this world of so many electronics, the more unfamiliar they are becoming with print. I think that rather than trying to focus on "saving" the newspaper all together, news teams should work towards accepting the fact that electronic copies are becoming more popular and try and adapt their work to reach the most amount of publicity through the digital media.

I found that story really inspiring and I think it says a lot about our generation becoming more accepting of people who are gay or bisexual. I definitely think that something like this happening could be in Tam's future. I agree with Maddie that Tam is welcoming and accepting of students not only who are a part of the LGBTQ community, but also of people with a variety of different backgrounds, ethnicities, and personalities. I feel Tam in general is a place that people can be themselves without feeling judged and that students are supportive of people no matter what their sexuality is or where they come from.

I agree with what everyone has said above. I think that it would be a great addition to the magazine, and definitely if not published in print, would be a great page for the website. The fashion trends at Tam always seems to be changing and I think it would be great to display what a wide range styles the students have. It's interesting to see how people express themselves through their style, and I think it says a lot about the culture of our student body. I know that a lot of my friends really liked the Valentine's Day Fashion page, so I think something like this would definitely attract readers.

I think with something like this the most important thing we can do is educate people about it. The Every 15 minutes simulation and things such as the Peer Resource Distracted Driving Day brings attention and awareness to the issue and makes them understand more by participating in something than just reading it on a piece of paper or getting lectured about it. By showing people the dramatic affects of drinking and driving, it can help them understand the danger and hopefully urge them to make better choices. As far as dropping the legal blood alcohol level again, I think that it could be helpful in reducing the number, but I don't think its the most effective solution.

I agree with all that has been said above. After a big incident like the Boston Bombings I think it makes sense and should be expected that new rules such as small backpacks and no unregistered participants at the race. However, after going this year it didn't seem like the security was very strict at all. I saw people with large backpacks and I know that there were a lot of people that went that were not registered and they didn't get kicked off. I was kind of expecting it to be a lot different than in past years but it wasn't really at all. I think part of the thing is that there are so many people that its hard to survey and control everyone and impose the new restrictions. It's kind of a bummer that the "new rules" that ended up not even being enforced kept some people from going to b2b this year.

I agree with a lot of the above comments. I think that it was important that this story was published by the Bark. Like Holly said, I don't understand why the science teachers wouldn't want this published, especially since they are so effected by it. I would think this is something that they wouldn't want to hide because it's and issue that involves so many students, and could help other teachers prevent the problem from becoming any bigger. Getting this story out helps raise awareness about what TAs are doing, and now that they see people are aware of what they have the ability to do in their position, they are probably less inclined to change their grade or do anything that would suggest that they are not being honest about their grades. Overall, I think that writing this story was beneficial and something that definately was appropriate to publsih.

I agree with many of the students above. I think that Tam News made the right choice posting it earlier in this case because this topic became a huge controversy within the community as soon as administration made the announcement of the potentential discontinuation. However, I acknowledge that being the first to publish a story might not always be right and could end up getting yourself into a sticky situation. I think our reporters did a good job getting the most accurate information they could get from sources and getting this information out in a timely manner, which in the case of this story was more appropriate because the topic became so big so fast. The Tam News article didn't publish anything that wasn't true, but they also didn't give themselves as much time to get in touch with better sources like the Redwood staff did. Yet I think that even without the sources that the Redwood article included, Tam's was just as strong because our article also made it apparent that things were not final and that things were still changing within the issue.
