Car Crash In Orange County Kills 5 Teens After Vehicle Splits In Half - 10 views

I agree with Krissy and believe that a school newspaper should definitely publish memorials. It can spread the message if there will be a vigil or memorial if any students would like to pay their respects. These horrible accidents definitely affect a school community, with students not realizing how delicate life is and yell "YOLO" these situations remind you that you do only live once.
Florida Student Arrested for Relationship with Same-Sex Teammate - 23 views

I agree with Daniel and Veronica and believe that because it was a lesbian relationship the police and parents got out of control. In the article it says the 14 year olds parents went to the police after finding out about the relationship. Who would do that? If you have a problem talk to your kid or at least to the other parents. But to go straight to the police without knowing all of the details, that just makes them look like homophobic parents.
Rich Manhattan moms hire handicapped tour guides so kids can cut lines at Disney World - 26 views

This is just sad. To think the mother has to go around and spoil her kids far enough to ask a handicapped person to impersonate being a family member. Also these kids are 1 and 5 years old! I don't know about you but I do not remember anything when I was 1 and not a lot when I was 5. So these kids will probably not even remember this vacation. She's exploiting the system for actual handicapped people and she thinks that because she's rich, she's above everyone else.

Do you think marijuana should be legalized? Would kids smoke it more or less if it were legalized?
New Google Glass Apps - 24 views

When I first read this I thought "whoa this is so cool". Now thinking about it Google Glass is just very impractical, especially if facebook or news stories keep popping up in your face. Especially if it costs $1500 for something that takes pictures and videos! I mean when would people use this, its a scary thought imagining millions of people wearing these and walking down the street, recording everyone and everything.

I agree with Liz and Dom and believe that they turn to drugs to help them with their memories of war. Like in the movie "Where is the front line from here?" a soldier said that the worst thing is war is not that you might die, but a brother will die. These soldiers have felt enough grief and sadness, and to help cope with it all they start using drugs or drinking alcohol.

Drive-by Hazing on Underclassmen at Redwood - 32 views

I agree with Holly that this is a horrible thing to do, I mean I would feel terrible if someone did this to me and all I did was walk down the street. The story seemed to take this lightly and the admins should be doing more to try to stop this hazing. I think the story could have been done better because this is a serious topic, one hazing at lunch could turn into something more dangerous and cause students to feel unsafe at school. This article just shows that Tam is the way to go!

TAs Cheat at Redwood - 81 views

I agree with Deovn, kids are always going to find some way of cheating. I also agree that this is partly the teacher's fault, sure they want to trust their students but if they give their students the power to grade homework or even access to eSchool, students might be pressured or convinced to change their grade. Students always hear that school is so important and they might fear that their grade is not good enough, so they believe they need to cheat to get a good grade. I thought the story was very well written but the writers could have got a few sources that are not anonymous.

I agree that this made the story much more engaging and helped me understand the avalanche as well as the emotions of the skiers. I thought the 911 call showed how devastating the accident was. This technology makes the story more alive. We should definitely try to do this, especially because this is such a technology driven world more people are reading things on their iPads then the newspaper.

Do you think this will help people come out of the closet if their school is as welcoming as this school? Do you think Tam could do this?
