I think that the Tam News did something like this on Valentines Day. What do you think about having a running 'street style'-type section, or a style section in general?

I absolutely think that having a style section - even if it was just a page - could be a very interesting prospect. Fashion is definitely something that a lot of Tam students take an interest in, and I think this could be a great way to get some new readers interested in the magazine. I think that Tam's fashion is something that really adds to the uniqueness of our student body, and it should be illustrated in our school newspaper. It would also be a great way for people to experiment with new methods of photojournalism, and explore interesting layouts, etc.

This is a really cool idea that would have a lot of benefits for our publication. Firstly, it would likely attract a returning readership. Secondly, this could draw people to our website if it were to be digitally published; update links via Facebook could serve as a hook for more students to get on our servers and be lured into further stories. Thirdly, this idea is one that can be very inclusive; if done correctly this could give us the opportunity to showcase the style of students from a wide range of backgrounds and social groups, thereby upping the diversity of our content and, potentially, our readership. Fourthly, this would be a great addition for archival purposes. Tam Newsies are sure to find us hilarious when they look through the Archives in fifteen years or so.

I agree with Holly, I think that clothes/style are things that are always changing, and that make people very unique. People have many different methods of expression, and I think for a lot of people fashion can define a big part of their personality. It would give students an opportunity to experiment with clothes and also be confident with their style. It could become something like the movie we watched with the guy from the New York Times, it can really become a passion for some people.

I agree with what everyone has said above. I think that it would be a great addition to the magazine, and definitely if not published in print, would be a great page for the website. The fashion trends at Tam always seems to be changing and I think it would be great to display what a wide range styles the students have. It's interesting to see how people express themselves through their style, and I think it says a lot about the culture of our student body. I know that a lot of my friends really liked the Valentine's Day Fashion page, so I think something like this would definitely attract readers.
