A light read, but a really great insight into wireless networks in Canada. Funny how the market is "functioning well," yet there are still so many accessibility issues related to internet access which need to be adressed, especially with regards to rural communities. The issue of access was touched on in Dijk's readings.

An interesting example of how toy companies are now marketing to kids and their families. Also, a good example of how kids are more technology literate due to the fact that they are exposed to technology at such a young age.

We were discussing Obama's Reddit appearance in class last week and I brough up this article. It discusses how reddit is a "terrible platform for extracting information from a politician." As a group, we have been discussing ways to stay organized and on top of our workload for this program and seeing as the vast majority of us have smartphones some of the apps suggested here might be able to help! The suggestions come from app developers who are students themselves, including Brennan McEachran, who is a fourth-year commerce student at Ryerson.

Another example of how technology is always moving forward and if you haven't caught up, it's easy to fall behind.

After reading some of the articles for this week this article seemed relevant as it looks at the effects our mobile technology and the need to be always connected is starting to have on consumers.

It's not much of a surprise when China tops a "world's most" list since it does, after all, have the biggest population. It is, however, intriguing that a new study discovered that China is the most active country for Twitter, as the service is blocked there. I find this interesting because they have Sina Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter (which I use to follow Asian public figures), and yet they choose to go the extra length to use a platform that is blocked in their country. It's surprising that (according to the article) China and India have more Twitter users than the US.

I'm passionate about water conservation so I find the content really interesting on this site, but content aside - this is an awsome example of how to properly use infographics. Great elements of visual design!

I initially thought this article would point me in a different direction, but after reading it I think we are able to see cool equate to technology. In fact, while I was reading I tried to change all the "cool" words for "technology" and I still got the same message. In our society we measure coolness by your technology integration. Geek is chic.
