This article elaborates on the idea of the constant shifts towards more mobile and interactive digital technology. We are now able to use our smartphone to make payments. It is interesting how much technology has impacted our every day activities.

Thought this was very interesting as it points out the increased reliance on digital communication rather than face-to-face interactions even when buying cupcakes!. 'Sprinkles' in the states is utilizing digital communication technology / ATM machines to sell cup cakes. I understand the need for drive-in options for Tim Horton stops, especially in the winter! This is interesting considering it is not exactly necessary, is probably very expensive, and it will probably decrease employment in the food services industry if it becomes a trend.

Really interesting how people are using their digital devices to tell their stories and capture memories. A common social trend in my opinion.

Some interesting changes in the PR industry which we have touched on in Virtual Org, especially in relation to the digital shift and how PR agency's are no longer controlling the message.

As a consequence of spending so much time online, we now leave traces of our personality everywhere. Our online behaviors are of interest to recruiters and employers, who are desperately trying to translate them into "digital reputations" and use them to find talent online. Recollect essentially saves your entire digital social media trail so you never lose any post, photo, check-in or anything else all in one handy dandy place. It's like a massive dropbox for your entire social media history. What does this say about us as users that we can't stand the thought of losing anything online. This massively gives me the creeps.

Not sure if technology replaces an intimate, interactive learning environment. The problem is defining which classrooms benefit from it rather than a university-wide policy. (I meant to post this when I first read it but came back to it around after watching another digital education seminar).
