Cindy, could you indicate in this list (since they all seem to be on the same Web server) which of these pages we could reference to get to the rest? This would help us, so we don't have to browse all the pages to find out this information.

Customer Retention: The Art of Keeping Good Customers - 1 views

  • Many organizations place their highest emphasis on attracting and gaining new customers. While this is important, I feel it is more important to place a higher emphasis on retaining and keeping your current customers. This is particularly true in saturated markets and industries, where your customers have many, many alternatives available to them. Numerous research studies have shown that if you can reduce your attrition rate, that is the annualized rate of lost customers, by as little as five percentage points, you can increase your bottom-line profits by anywhere from 25% to 85%. That's right, just keeping more of the customers you have and preventing them from taking their business elsewhere can have an immediate, positive impact on your bottom line

Heart and Stroke Foundation - Healthy Living - 1 views

    • Antonia Gujinovic

This banner is successful in reminding the reader of current fund-raising events, programs and important information. It is successful because it remains constant on all pages/sections of the entire Heart and Stroke website.
    • Antonia Gujinovic

This "donate now" button is also something that stays constant in all sections of the website. The yellow colour nicely contrasts with the red background to draw more attention to it.  The only downside of this "donate now" button is the size. A bigger size would draw more attention to it. Thus potentially getting more donations.
    • Antonia Gujinovic

There is a 'Home' link on all pages to allow a reader to easily access the home page incase they get lost or find themselves in a spot they don't need to be.

The side bar is a great way of keeping important sections of the website always in the readers view. The Canvass Online box is something that stays on top as the most important item on all pages. The consistency and repetitiveness of the side bar on all sections of the web site is a great way of getting more people to sign up. Also the colour scheme again is important here. It sticks to the red colour representing heart health.
    • Antonia Gujinovic

This passage shows an appeal to ethos and logos. In the first sentence (ethos) it mentions that experts have reviewed the section. The second sentence (logos) states that the information is based on scientific evidence.
  • based on scientific evidence
  • experts
    • Antonia Gujinovic

The organization of the topics are well done. The colour red is chosen to emphasize the heart health theme. The topics are sub-categorized alphabetically making it user-friendly and logically organized.

Figure, very easy to interpret, emphasizes the amount of water you are wasting by incresing the font sixe and changing the colour
    • lindsay jmaiff

emphasizes that the person in the picture is an expert in the field so what he has to say in important, expert is capitalized and clearly more important than his name (maybe hes a no name) which is below the picture in a smaller less noticable font

Colours blue and gold: give a sence of royalty or astutness possibly. The picture with old books shows knowledge and wisdom, the slideshow if photos displays the companies use of technology. The Logo is in cursive and has a watermark which is visually pleasing to the eye, the cursive reidderates the old fashion trusted skill, also the date of establishment is highlighted in the logo-- being an old company puts value, trust and loyalty into it

Munsch has all of his book laid out is an orderly fashion. He is displaying what he has to offer the reader.
    • Hiliary Leon

These books are all links to information about the books and verbal recording of a book. I really like this because it gives you the idea how the writer wants the book read.
    • Hiliary Leon

The links looks like they are book titles to go with the theme of him being a children's book Author.
    • Hiliary Leon

This site is to catch the eye of the children and to advertise some of the characters of the books. This is a very significant to his image and what Munsch is persuading to his audience

This website is showing me pathos due to the emotion that robert is sending emotions of silliness, happiness, curiosity, eagerness, adventurous and cheerful. The website would make me want to buy and use his book in my daily practices.
    • Hiliary Leon

The yellow is associated with the sun, cheerful, fun, laughter, happiness and good times. The yellow is the prefect colour to chose to go with the theme of his books, cheerful, happiness, laughter and good times.

  • Description: The next ten years promise to be hugely disruptive for the traditional idea of school as more and more alternative learning platforms are created and expanded.
  • Our generation faces a…radically new, design challenge. We are dealing with a mature, stable system of education designed to adapt to gradual change, but ill-suited to embrace radical change.
  • What does this new design look like? What are the big questions regarding learning, teaching and schooling that we need to begin to address?

  • One of my favorite things that Sheryl says when she talks about the challenges that schools face right now is that this generation of kids in our schools is the first not to have a choice about technology.

  • As a parent right now, I would gladly give up a lot of the “knowing” that my kids are doing, a lot of the content that’s being crammed in their heads, in exchange for time spent on what learning can be at a time when they have 2 billion potential teachers at their fingertips.

The background colour is plain white to really make the link options to stand out. When I first opened this page my eye had to adjust, I find it very unusually that Carle has made his back ground colour white.

Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada - Homepage - 0 views

    • Antonia Gujinovic

This is a Canadian website, but the Heart and Stroke Foundations recognizes that heart disease can affect anyone and that Canada is a multicultural country. So they have included resources in other languages to accommodate more readers. (ethos)
    • Antonia Gujinovic

This box of info is an appeal to emotions. Not only is it stating what the #1 killer of women is, but it is listing what women are. Grandmothers, mothers, wives, daughters and sisters. This takes the reader from thinking about a woman in general to making the reader think of their own mother, sister, wife, daughter or grandmother.
    • Antonia Gujinovic

The three short words "Make Death Wait" are very impact-full. Just the name of the campaign appeals to the emotions before even knowing what the campaign is about. We all know death is inevitable and that for some it happens sooner than it should. So the thought of making something inevitable wait gives hope.
