HSK (Level I) assesses test takers' abilities in the application of everyday Chinese (Mandarin). It is the counterpart of the Level I of the Chinese Language Proficiency Scales for Speakers of Other Languages and the A1 Level of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEF).

This lesson taught me new vocabulary pertaining to how to refer to people and things. I learned how to say things like, "I," "you," and "they." It helped to teach me how to describe, very basically, my feelings toward something. This lesson really helped me to speak Mandarin at a level I was starting to really hope to achieve. I am still extremely basic, but now I can talk about myself and other people instead of just talking about food and basic actions. I would highly recommend getting to at least this lesson in Rosetta Stone because it will really help you to be able to convey much more than what you could before, no matter how basic you still are. This resource is a must to anyone wanted to learn Mandarin Chinese.

This was a work that I used for an American Studies paper. It was about how women gained power during World War One, and how they expressed that power through writing. I was able to access this article through Ms. Burdett's JSTOR account, which was a very useful website because you had access to work that wasn't published on the broader internet and you could keep it all bookmarked together. I knew this was reliable because it was associated with a college, and the author used in-text citations so I could double check her sources if I wanted to. However, it was biased because the author was writing a persuasive piece. She started the work with a debatable thesis and gave evidence throughout the article to support it. This was one of the most challenging articles I've read because it was written at a college level, but the information was at a higher level as well. The author went very in-depth, and while the sheer amount of information was sometimes hard to sort through, it gave me better details in the end. The only drawback I would tell someone else who wanted to use this source was that it was on JSTOR, so I needed Ms. Burdett's password and permission whenever I wanted to use it.

The US Food and Drug and Administration has announced the approval of a drug called Farxiga (dapaglifozin) to help treat adults with type 2 diabetes. The tablets, in combination with diet and exercise, are said to improve control of blood sugar levels. According to the American Diabetes Association, approximately 25.8 million people in the US have diabetes.

I used this site to get a better understanding of interior design degrees. It talked about each level of education and what you would typically do for each. I looked around this site and its not just for interior design you can search other careers as well. I recommend this to anyone that wants to learn more about the education of their topic.

This is a power point by a kindergarten teacher about how important it is to differentiate the lessons at the kindergarten level. The presentation is concise and easy to understand. I recommend it to any future teachers.

This website has information regarding all of the levels of the PSIA test and how to get certified and take the test, along with useful information regarding how to take the test.

Mahli is an amazing teacher. She helped me to learn Mandarin at a more precise level. Instead of just teaching me vocabulary, she taught me grammar rules and the tones that are crucial to the Chinese language. She would stay after school with me or meet up with me for around an hour every few days and we would go over things that I needed and/or wanted to know and she would help me with them and she would also critique my Chinese. Mahli studied abroad to China, so she knows the difficulties of learning Mandarin, so she is extra patient with you. She is really a great teacher and to anybody who would like some advice on Mandarin Chinese, I would certainly recommend talking to Mahli.

The topics that were covered were vitamin A, B, C, E, Zinc, and Calcium. For each vitamin it explained what can happen when someone is lacking one and also what you can eat that would help maintain a healthy level of each of them.

I really enjoy the design of backpacks, but this design brings it to a new level. This backpack is made of genuine leather and is reversible, this allows the user to change the appearance from a plain outer to a quilted look.

This is a great site about current world events in a level of French that is easy to understand. Not only can you learn about foreign issues, but I was also able to improve my french reading and comprehension

This website was helpful in helping me to find out some home experiments I could perform. None were too helpful, but they all provided small bits of insight into the chemistry field. Though at a basic level, they helped me to get the gist of how some chemicals react with one another. I would not particularly recommend this site to another, but if they wanted to check it out that would be just as fine.

This website asks you a few questions and then gives you a list of colleges that have your intended field of study and level of degree.
