Music Ed Blogs is a website that features information about all areas of music education. The website itself is a collection of, what it rates as being, the best music education blogs. There is a wide variety of resources available to the viewer on Music Ed Blogs. They have articles on everything from why you should attend a conference to songs and games for Valentine's Day. The website also has several free resources that would be especially useful to a new, or first year, teacher.

Although this website doesn't focus on one specific blog or concept area, it's a great resource to find a wide array of information. Not everything on this website will interest everyone, but it's easy to find something that pertains to your subject area. It also includes a wide variety of bloggers, thus giving the reader the opportunity to see content that they normally might miss.

An online marketplace for teachers to buy and sell classroom resources. I have found many free and low cost worksheets, visuals and even lesson plans online. Resources include worksheets for pitch, rhythm, composers, specific songs, like the Star Spangled Banner and so much more. A valuable resource for a teacher who does not want to "recreate the wheel" OR who is creative and likes to "recreate the wheel" and earn a little cash doing it!

Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT), is a great resource for lesson plans, bulletin boards, and so much more! While most resources are free, some you do have to pay for.

This would be a great source for teachers who need the documentation for certain topics. This website provides every grade level, along with every subject being provided. There are lots of information on this source for free, and there are also many sources that are not free. But it depends on what you want or need. The purpose of this sources is to give teachers a wide range of things, that they may need in their classrooms.

This is the page for the Nations Association for Music Education. This site is full of information for teachers and students alike on the national level. Music research and advocacy information is also available. NAFME was formerly called MENC.

These bands include the active bands, Army Reserve Bands, National Guard bands, and the U.S. Army School of Music Band. Each band will also have smaller ensembles such as jazz bands and rock bands. The site also has recordings of the Army band performing some traditional ceremonial songs including marches, fanfares, and even bugle calls that are found on the music tab. This is very beneficial if you are are trying to perform a patriotic show or performing for the school's JROTC programs. There are pages for the National Anthem and The Army Song that provides the history of the songs as well as the lyrics and recordings. You can click on the songs titles to download mp3 files. The education tab is great because it has a list of U.S. Army Music Master Classes for every instrument and covers a wide range of topics. From basics and fundamentals to practicing to percussion. Master classes are added periodically. When you click on the title of the master class, a PDF will download. You can also request for a clinicians, clinic teams, master classes, or guest conductors to come out to your school. The only expense you might have to pay is for travel expenses if they are not in the area.

Journals can be accessed from the site under the membership. There are competitions, conferences, instrument outreach and job posting. This is just for string educators with many resources and support around the nation.

NAfME, among the world's largest arts education organizations, is the only association that addresses all aspects of music education.

The website thoroughly illustrates the Alexander Technique of mind and body reeducation, and its objective of eliminating a wide range of habits that musicians are unaware of (bad posture, abnormal breathing etc)

A comprehensive technique studies for brass instruments. It was created by Herbert Clarke in 1912. This is still widely used by music educators. 

Kahn Academy provides free online instruction in a wide array of domains. Their music section contains information on basic music reading and terminology, examinations of orchestral works by Gerard Schwartz (former music director of the Seattle Symphony), and and introduction to the instruments of the orchestra.

TED is a great site for any subject. It is filled with videos and articles on a wide array of topics. Topics are basically limitless.

This is a looping program that is widely used for composition around the country.

An amazing site for all instrumentalists that includes audio/video demonstrations of most woodwind, brass, string, percussion, and keyboard instruments. Examples of articulation, timbre in different registers, mutes, vibrato, special effects, and more are provided.

A great interactive way for students to learn the instruments of the orchestra, as well as fretted strings, without sitting through a lecture. What fun this would be as a scavenger hunt for the students with QR codes.

Choralia offers part rehearsal tracks for a wide selection of choral repertoire. Most of it is Baroque/Classical/Romantic era rep, but there is a good selection of newer works as well (Gjeilo, Lauridsen, Rutter). Sound quality is a little funky, but they do the job.

It also allows music educators to read research journals based on all aspects of music education. There is a wide variety of research topics, all of which are very high quality! This is also a great advocacy website.

This website offers a wide variety of music titles to be used in a choral, general music, or individual lessons classroom. Although many of the scores need to be paid for, there are many free ones available as well.
