Purpose of this resource: Chordify is a useful website for determining the chord progressions of almost any song. Musical Content: Chordify allows users to upload or link to recordings and analyze the chord structure. This works for all genres, including classical music. The chords are displayed in text form, and you can follow the chord changes through the piece while your original file plays. Other information: When using Chordify, educators should double-check the chords. Files with extra sounds (such as applause) can cause the program to add extraneous chords, and suspensions/inversions are not written out. This resource is still helpful for score analysis, and even for choral directors with limited keyboard proficiency. Chord changes can be written in to concert music to allow for a simpler harmonic accompaniment when teaching.

IPA Source is an excellent resource for any choral director, especially if you include foreign language pieces in your repertoire. Not only does this site offer IPA translations and guides for your knowledge, but you can even use it as a resource to teach your students the International Phonetic Alphabet. This resource is not entirely free, but the subscriptions are relatively affordable for educational institutions.

This website offers a wide variety of music titles to be used in a choral, general music, or individual lessons classroom. Although many of the scores need to be paid for, there are many free ones available as well.

This site keeps an up to date feed on all technology useful to music educators. This covers basic applications on mobile devices and even classroom technology such as tuners, metronomes and SmartBoards.

Apronus Piano is an online piano that works on both touchscreens and with piano keyboards. As opposed to some online keyboard that play C when you press the letter C, D when you press the letter D, it uses the keyboard as close to a piano as possible. The second row of keys corresponds to the white keys on the piano and the number row corresponds to the black keys as they occur (with one or two exceptions). The bottom two rows can be used to play chords. The range of the keyboard can be adjusted to hear different notes. This online piano can be used as extra practice for general music or piano students or as a substitution for a real piano if keyboards are not available but computers are available. It could also be used in conjunction with composition assignments or for choral students to practice vocal lines.

From the Top is a PBS series that features young performers on the Carnegie Hall stage. Each clip includes background and an interview with Christopher O'Riley (host and sometimes piano accompanist). There are representations of almost every major instrument in band and orchestra as well as vocalists, choral ensembles, pianists, and guitarists. The young performers have selected pieces in a variety of styles and some have amazing background stories, including an Olympic skater and one about the effects of Hurricane Katrina. The website also includes podcasts and a section for teachers that includes lesson plans to incorporate along with each episode. Sometimes students have trouble with understanding what to listen for while singing or don't pay attention to anything other than their own individual part of the ensemble. This blog describes creative a ways to enhance how students listen within the choral ensemble.

The Choir Ninja podcast is an excellent resource for choir directors of all types! Ryan Guth provides insight and advice on how to handle common issues that arise when directing choirs. Several prominent members of the Choral Director community have also made guest appearances on this program, and provide their own insight.

For Bach aficionados like myself, this website literally has it all. You can find excerpts from all chorale motives utilized by Bach in his major works, cross-referenced and indexed. There's a list of the full church year and links to external recordings and files of his music. A must-visit site, which can be great for student music history projects!

Classical Classroom is a podcast that offers a welcoming and simple approach to all things classical. It covers topics such as instrumental music, choral/opera music, film scores, composer biographies and more. The podcast is available through multiple platforms like iTunes, GooglePlay, and the web.

This blog provides many applications for iPads in the choral classroom. It investigates Apple's "student-proof" technology, so that they don't get off task and use the iPad for other activities. It's a useful resource for anyone considering purchasing iPads.

Blog posts include many practical topics and issues faced by music teachers such as strategies for working with special needs students, technology, and mental health of teachers. Many of the blog posts feature a video that includes a question and answer segment addressing specific questions from teachers.

Members can also access information for auditioning singers for the National Conference Choirs and register to attend the annual conferences.
