Offers continua for structuring projects by students but couldn't these be adopted in setting up PBL for adult elearners? The continua are trust (locus of control), Questioning (who is generating the questions), Collaboration (how much collaboration is really going on?), Content (reductionist to complex), Knowledge (hidden to visible), Purpose (contrived to authentic).

"Finding the Right Metrics It can be easier to think about success in terms of indicators. High-level indicators are essentially aggregates of measurements that give you a quick indication of whether or not the organization is on target with its goals and will allow us to map all projects and initiatives to the objectives - bearing in mind that most projects don't fit nicely into a single goal or objective, but it's helpful to know how each project is contributing to the overall goals of the organisation. MIT Media Lab uses three indicators when they measure success: Uniqueness - have we done something new that helps the field? Impact - Have we reached people? Short (<2 minutes) by John Spencer, uploaded June 27, 2010 to YouTube on Starting a PLN. Although oriented somewhat toward teachers, it is valuable for anyone to get a sense of what a PLN is and why it might be a good idea to do.

This video by Seth Dickens poses two questions 1) What do I know that could be shared? and 2) What do I want to learn? While I might disagree with the order, the rest of the video (about 4 minutes long) does a beautiful job of explaining what a learning (professional or personal) network is and what it allows one to do to connect purposeful and learn.
