rationale and components for WL Studio?
  •
This is phenomenal. Thank you. YES! If we begin with the components of Notice, Dream, Connect and Do, we are well on our way to a viable leadership project. What have we noticed, what do we dream, what other connections can we make, what will we do about what we noticed? I have noticed that, like the young woman on the video, many do not know where their passions lie. I have noticed that women (and men) experience horrible events in their professional lives and they have little support. I have noticed we have so many directions in which we can go, and it would be helpful for us to find a direction that suits us.

More companies are going virtual for their annual shareholder meetings - The Washington... - 0 views

  • HP won't be the first company to host a completely virtual shareholder meeting, but it may very well be the largest.
  • In 2011, just 21 companies used Broadridge Financial Solutions, a primary provider of online shareholder meeting technology, to hold virtual-only meetings. By 2014, that number had grown to 53.
  • Big companies, including Intel and Microsoft, have hosted what's known as hybrid meetings, in which a physical event is held but investors can also "attend" online.
  • ...3 more annotations...
  • (While many companies now webcast their meetings, that only allows shareholders to view the event, not participate in it.)
  • Also, unlike many companies that only use audio for their online meetings, HP will broadcast video of CEO Whitman and the company's meeting participants.
  • because the question-and-answer session during regular meetings is often limited, online meetings could actually expand the number of questions that get asked.

Reinventing the LMS Market - Again | 2015-09-28 | CLOmedia - 0 views

  • here has also been an explosion of written content, published in blogs and articles, all generally easy to find and curate with mobile tools, social media and various products that recommend content. This new digital world now offers a veritable ocean of free or nearly free content, often authored by experts, seasoned professionals, business leaders and well-known academics. Catherine Davis outlines 5 simple things to do when designing e-learning for adults with low level literacy skills or for non English speaking adult (ESL) populations. Basically it is: simple interface without bells and whistles; simple short sentences; lots of visuals (infographs) and photos; on-screen text and visuals that support audio - audio is the driver of the pages; provide supplemental full audio transcript
  •
Good to incorporate this into the proposal and brings up the need to investigate using audio and video as much as possible

Global Kids: Our Approach | Online Leadership Program - 0 views

  •
An amazing project that utilizes gaming, social media, digital badging, and virtual worlds as methods to promote digital literacy to youth in high risk areas. These after-school programs are designed to "Global Kids believes that youth be not merely critical consumers but active producers of digital media". Kids produce games on social issues impacting them (such as neighborhood violence or racial intolerance) that are designed to teach others about not just about the issue but how it feels to be impacted by the issue.
  •
The Global Kids definition of leadership is very in tune with what we have been trying to convey, I think. Here is there goal statement: "The Global Kids Online Leadership Program (OLP) integrates international and public policy issues into digital media programs to encourage digital literacy and technical competency, foster global awareness, promote civic participation and develop 21st Century skills. OLP was created in 2000 to bring new media into Global Kids' after school programs, introduce these programs into online communities, and explore how the combination of the two could develop 21st Century Learning Skills. Through programs utilizing video games, virtual worlds, social media, and other forms of participatory media, youth involved in our programs now have the opportunity to have their voices heard and make a global impact in ways that were previously unimaginable."
