Lesson plans and activities for a wide range of subject geared towards real-life examples. Difficult to sort through and search for material relevant to the math standards needed for my courses.
TWO WRITING TEACHERS | A meeting place for a world of reflective writers. - 2 views

A meeting place for a world of reflective writers. This blog is outstanding! I have been trying to come up with new ways to become a better writing teacher. These writing teachers provide free resources for a writing binder they created with their students, and I plan to implement this into my own class!

Since I am a TESOL major, I am very interested in motivation for writing and ways to make writing fun! I definitely think I would use this in the future for advanced students for ESL. It would help me think of new prompts, new ways to make writing fun, and motivation for students. The website is definitely for teacher use because it is a resource for lesson plans and activities. I said it before, there will always be blogs and websites that give resources and ideas like this. But there are a lot of bad blogs and websites and this one definitely has a lot of good ideas!

Great blog, I like how they have it organized and the amount of resources you can find on this blog. This blog had many great ideas for teachers to use while teaching students writing. This is a resource that would be helpful for teachers.

This is one of the best lists I have seen for 21st-century teaching! I think that this article could be used in any classroom as ways for teachers to transform their practice. Some of the ideals I think are a little hard to achieve... for example, going completely paperless would be difficult, particularly in the early years when students need to learn handwriting. But this is a great resource for teachers, regardless, to get ideas on how to challenge themselves and adapt their teaching to the needs of their learners in today's age. I am not aware of any other list that is as comprehensive as the one you shared; I like this list!

This is a great article, I have many articles from Edutopia bookmarked as well. Any teacher could learn from this list of characteristics and suggestions. Although I do not think that as a future teacher I would be able to follow all of these I believe many are possible.

Achievethecore.org :: Instructional Practice Guide - 1 views

The Instructional Practice Guide includes coaching and lesson planning tools to help teachers and those who support teachers to make the Key Shifts in instructional practice required by the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). In order for teachers, colleagues, and instructional leaders to have meaningful and productive conversations about instructional goals and outcomes, there must be shared expectations regarding lesson planning and observation. These tools provide common criteria framed around the Key Shifts required by the CCSS that can be used to facilitate conversations between teachers and coaches about aligning content and instruction. By using these tools to reflect on practice, clear connections can be made between Common Core-aligned lesson planning and classroom instruction--conversations which can supplement information from other established observation protocols that focus on planning and preparation, classroom management and environment, and professional responsibilities.

I can use the resources posted on this site in my classroom to enhance learning. These resources can be used by both teachers and students for interactive learning experiences. I am familiar with Edmodo and I like the many features it offers to teachers and students. In my school we use Canvas, which is based on a similar concept. However the Edmodo interface is very similar to Facebook which can be more user friendly for students.

This resource is valuable to students and teachers. The first video on talks about how it can be used by anyone. My concern is that the video was made in 2007. That seems like a long time ago I wonder what the updated video looks like? I am very glad to hear there are alternatives to Blackboard and Google classroom but I wonder if the alternatives to these big shots work the same?

Teaching resources and activities for all subject areas

I love YouTube. Anything you want to know more about is likely on YouTube. The information is not always the greatest because anyone can post anything on YouTube but if you want to hear someone else tell you something looking on YouTube is a fantastic way to go. TedTalks are amazing; this type of resource can not ever be over used and is not taken advantage of enough. This TedTalk is 5 years old and is still very powerful. Students and teachers can both benefit from changing the way they consume information and redirecting their interest with the voice of a good speaker is a great way to get things going in that direction.

Using the STEM project in Elementary Schools

This resource will be useful in future classrooms because it gives a very nice perspective of how things are going currently with STEM. I think this article would be most useful to teachers looking for ways to improve things but it might also be useful for students or parents who want to know more about the how's and why's of what is being taught. I have not found any articles of this type in my searching.

Catlin Tucker is an experienced teacher that documents her journey with blended learning. She not only puts on lesson plans, ideas, and resources, but she also makes tutorials for most of the websites/apps.
-
This is a very cool website. This website has a great deal of information on it and Catlin is very inspirational. I think this resource would be good for teachers to glim inspiration form and for Catlin's students to access information about her courses. For a teacher to have a website is a very new thing and I am sure that many teachers do but have never explored one before; good find!
