Augmented reality on Sesame Street? Pretty incredible! I do wonder how kids will interact with this type of technology at such a young age. 

GoGoNews, an online news resource for children, announced that OLPC XO laptops will feature GoGoNews App in the collection of default applications. Through GoGoNews app, children can read filtered headline news, as well as art, cultural science, or fun topics, and play online games.

"Skid-e-Kids says it offers children help with homework and parents a dashboard to keep tabs on what their kids are up to. "Skid-e-Kids is the only social network that is truly committed to not only keeping our children safe, but also making sure that they are systematically learning while they are having fun," the site promises."

Online physics game. It's really fun and creative. One must wonder, however, how to really pin down what knowledge/skills they're acquiring and if they're transferrable. Wonderful game nevertheless!

Check out this informal use of AR called Urban Sleuth. In addition to participating the platform also allows you to create your own content. Might be something fun to do as a cohort before it gets too chilly!

Portal is a fun, innovative 3D first-person game known for its unique physics gameplay and sense of humor. It's over 4 years old now, but still enjoyable and clever. It's been used in education as a way for students to explore physics, and also as a gameworld ripe for student content creation. The game is available as a free download for PC/Mac through 9/20.

Using math to design your own Disney World ride!

Haha! Read this one today. Considered bookmarking it. I don't know how much fun a ride would be after standing in line for two hours than having to think about what it is you are going to ride.
