I believe that it is a good site because it goes into IQ test and how they work on children. How This Influenced My Thinking: It made me realize that children are more complex in their intelligence than I thought them to be. How This Influenced My Thinking: This article has influenced my thinking by discussing so many factors that influence a child's weight and doesn't blame the parent as being a careless or lazy parent rather it points to specific factors, such as socioeconomic status and genetics. Credibility of Source: This source is credible. It was written by a doctor and is on emedicine.com

How This Influenced My Thinking: It gave me good insight on how cognitive abilities is truly measured and that there is not one sure way approach to do this. Summary and Why Relevant: Soon after the publication of "Growing Old," sociologists developed other models of aging that contradicted disengagement. Author: John Matson Date Published: June 16, 2011 Why Relevent: This is a fascinating article about the reasons evolutionarily that we resemble or parents. It makes sense and explains how hte theory was tested. How It Influenced My Thinking: I remember watching a TV show a while ago that showed this phenomenon in monkeys of some kind. I recall that this was new information to me, however I was not surprised. It makes total sense. Nature is brilliant. Credibility of Source: Very credible. The source is from an article in Scientific American

Title: Nutrition Before, During, and After Pregnancy Author: unknown but found on Family Education Date Published: 2000-2013 Why Relevant and Summary: This article is revelant because it discusses what proper nutrition is needed throughout pregnancy and after. It also gives tips on what should be eating. As well, it gives you information on the proper amount a weight should be gained. How this influenced my thinking: This has influenced my way of thinking because I didn't know that have pregnancy there still should be a certain way to get your nutrition back in order. It talks about pregnancy, things to consider, possible locations for birth, and methods for birth. How This Influenced My Thinking: I hadn't realized how many different birth methods there were. Credibility of Source: It seems credible, the article is very informative and the website has a lot information on women's health

Author: Ann Hallemans Date Published: May 2007 Why Relevant and Summary: This article is relevant to the study because it demonstrate a longitudinal study done on infant of the earlier stages of walking. It also provides research done and the methods that were included as well. How This Influenced My Thinking: This had influence my way of thinking by now knowing that earlier development is in walking is not only with our nervous system but as well with our mental capability. Credibility of Source: Scholarly article found on EBSCOhost.

Title: Bronfenbrenner's Ecological Model of Child Development Author: Eastman Date Published: 2004 Why Relevant and Summary: The pdf file speaks about Bronfenbrenners theory and gives many relevant examples on how each system has an influence on the development of the child. How this influenced my thinking: I was able to get a more in depth understanding of Bronfenbrenners theory on influential factors that determines a child developmental outcomes. Credibility: it was a UW-Extension ABC project

Title: Bronfenbrenner's Theory- youtube (video) Author: kleinen2012 Date Published: April 8, 2009 Why Relevant and Summary: This video was produced by a Human Development student, and gives a great summary of Brofenbrenner's model, along with sharing clear and relevant diagrams and definitions. For the audio-visual learner, this is a great resource for gaining basic understanding of Brofenbrenner's Ecological Model. How This Influenced My Thinking: It helped me, as an auditory learner to better absorb the information. Credibility of Source: 8; It lists her references at the end of the video.

Title: Psychology Assignment on Bronfenbrenner for LIT Author: 1976fifi Date Published: 2011 Why Relevant and Summary: Engaging and a bit funny. This is a thorough video that demonstrates and explains Bronfenbrenner's ecological theory while demonstrating plenty of examples. How This Influenced My Thinking: This video presented a bit more information and examples which helped me understand the theory as well as Bronfenbrenner's strong interests in social environment and cultural impact. Credibility of Source: This video seems very credible with a lot of the information aligning with the information we read and was given to us in class.

Date Published: 2001 Why Relevant and Summary: This article is very relevant because it discusses how nature and nurture can play a role in the human development. The authors do so by discussing how schizophrenia can be both due to nature and nurture by giving examples. How This Influenced My Thinking: This article showed me how both nature and nurture can effect the human development and we cat rule out one for the other. Credibility of Source: This source was found on ebscohost and is from the journal "Perspectives in Psychiatric."

Title: VS Ramachandran: 3 clues to understanding your brain Author: Vilayanur Ramachandran - neurologist Date Published: March 2007 Why Relevant and Summary: The debate of nature vs. nurture is considered when neurologist Ramachandran share his findings from rehabilitating those with brain injuries or brain wiring issues such as phantom limbs. This video argues that stroke paralysis, and phantom pains could be "learned" behaviors and not innately biological. How This Influenced My Thinking: In writing my paper I discuss traumatic brain injury in the developing children and how it influences processes. This video delves deeper into neurological development and behaviors which may be more of a product of environment than biology alone. Credibility of Source: Extremely credible - Lecture given by practicing neurologist.

Title: The Cultural Art of Breastfeeding Author: Cynthia Good Mojab, MS Date Published: October-November 2000 Why Relevant and Summary: While this article is from a pro-breastfeeding site, there is a ton of info about the culture of breastfeeding. It covers both biological and cultural aspects. How This Influenced My Thinking: I never thought about how the lack of breastfeeding in the family would influence a new mom. Credibility of Source: The La Leche League is the Pro-Breastfeeding place to go. I find this source extremely credible.

Title: Breastfeeding Across Cultures Author: Keith Goetzman Date: 8/11/2009 Why Relevant and Summary: This just gives an example of the difference between cultures on the topic of breastfeeding in public, or just breastfeeding in general. This gives an example of Mongolian cultural differences. How This Influenced my Thinking: It showed me how different cultures vary, and how something labeled as "taboo" in our culture is completely normal for another.

Title: Breastfeeding and Human Lactation Author: Jan Riordan Date Published: 1998 Why Relevant and Summary: This ebook is very relevant because it discusses how different culutres choose to breastfeed or not and how other cultures can determine if they will breastfeed or not. This ebook gets more in detail but from my reading (pgs. 716-719) it covers background information and provide examples on which culture breastfeed why or why not. How This Influenced My Thinking: This has influence my thinking because I subconsciously didn't realized why most people didn't breast feed besides it just being a trend. Credibility of Source: This is credible because it is a published book.

Title: Natural Childbirth & Waterbirth Facts, Benefits for Mom & Baby Author: Marie Black- Holistic Life Coach Date Published: Uploaded August 4th 2011 Why Relevant and Summary: Insightful information about benefits and concerns of the waterbirth method of childbirth. How This Influenced My Thinking: Good points on benefits of waterbirth, she was able to give me more information on my concerns as well as suggestions for research. Credibility of Source: very credible information and citing of sources.
