Title: Catholic Marriage Preparations Author: NA Date Published: NA Why Relevant and Summary: This website is very helpful if one is planning to get married in the Catholic Church. Although it's only an outline of the marriage preparation classes, it definitely helps to give the key points of what is needed before getting married such as sacraments and also includes how Religion plays an important role within the marriage. How this influenced my Thinking: This website made me realize what a marriage consist of. For many people like me one usually thinks that married life is the best time of one's life and there is no problems that come with it, but reality is that a lot of work has to be put towards the marriage from both parts in order to have a successful marriage. This article definitely made it clear that a marriage has a lot of components. Credibility: Seems credible since it's from a parish website

Title: Kohlberg Author: Saul McLeod Date Published: 2011 Why Relevant and Summary: This article found on simplypsychology.org gives a descriptive over view of each of the 6 moral stages theory by Lawrence Kohlberg. It also discusses the criticism of his theory by Gilligan. Gilligan claimed that women and men were determined using the same standard because original studies were solely based on men. Gilligan says women approach situations from an "ethics of care" rather than from and "ethics of justice" ..changing the stage that women and men most often ended up in. How This Influenced My Thinking: It gave me a better understanding of the way that Kohlberg approached this study and how Gilligan opposed the findings. The article was very clear and presented the information to be easily understood. Credibility of Source:Somewhat -Credible citations were used in the writing of this article.

Title- why religion matters author-Patrick F. Fagan date-Jan 25th 1996 why relevant and summary- this site provided many supporting examples as to how religion influences a child's upbringing. This give my paper some depth and intertwined different view points. how this influenced me- i wasn't really influenced by this site because it didn't add anything that i hadn't heard before. It might influence a person more if they are not as familiar with religion, specifically Christianity, as i was. credibility-the site seems pretty credible. It is a .org website, and was written by someone with a PHD in his area of study.

As well as menopause changes and what a woman can expect as she nears the age of fifty. how this influenced my thinking: This website told me a bit about what to expect during the aging process. Author: Cecilia Kirkpatrick Date Published: 2007 Why Relevant and Summary: In this newspaper article Cecilia talks about the changes a woman undergoes as she ages. This is perfect for my paper since it tells me exactly what I need to know. She goes from physical changes all the way to the changes on the inside of the body and mentally as well. How This Influenced My Thinking: This just enlightened me on all the changes that I am eventually going to go through as I age. Credibility of Source: It is a newspaper article with an author and date and information seems accurate as it complements our textbook.

Identity can come from what your community requires of you, or something else. How this influenced my thinking: this reinforced my ideas on emerging adulthood being a stage of unsure identity for some if not most. Credibility: American Psychological Association

Why Relevant and Summary: This article discusses a study that was done show a relationship with stress and caregiving. In particular, one the study proved that caregivers reported having lower overall health ratings due to stress. How This Influenced My Thinking: After reading the article I never realized How much stress caregivers go through taking care of someone else. In contrast, I have always thought caregiver had a fairly easy job besides the minor lifting of the patient and cleaning them. Credibility of Source: The author is a Therapist

Title: Take Dr. Oz RealAge Test Author: The Dr. Oz Show Date Published: N.D. Why relevant and summary: These three link were about determining your real age. The Dr.'s explain that there are many factors that age you. Food ages you, if you eat fast food you age faster. Also, the amount of exercise that you do also impacts how fast you age. Genetics also play a major role in your aging process. How it influenced my thinking: I was already aware that the food you eat ages you as well as the amount of exercise that you do. I did find it quite interesting that 80% of the aging process we are in control of such as having a healthy lifestyle. Credibility: Seems credibly…Dr. Oz.

It discusses the facts of what will be happening to the body as a women ages and how to deal with accepting the fact that changes are happening. How This Influenced My Thinking: This article discusses many aspects in ones life that can affect the way a women feels about herself at 50. It made a good point that if you have compulsive thoughts about aging you will start to drive yourself crazy - a thought that will make you feel like you are living to the tic-toc of the clock. How this influenced me: It helps me to look at my life because I fear turning 30! I can't imagine the types of things I may feel when I get to my 40's. Some of the tips where practical like, exercise, eat healthy or get enough sleep to more specific which had to do with how to handle the emotional burden of the situation. How has this influenced my thinking: This article was very interesting for me, because I currently support my parents, even though they are in good health and able to take care of themselves, still some of the issues outline in the article apply to my situation as well. Source credibility: The article was publish on a government website and the authors are medical professionals.

Title: Becoming 'parent of your parent' an emotionally wrenching process Author: Mindy Fetterman, USA TODAY Date Published: February 1, 2008 Why Relevant and Summary: This article is relevant to the topic of caring for an elderly parent as the experiences that one may have when caring for an elderly parent are discussed throughout this article. This article has a real life perspective of people going through the motions of caring for and making decisions for their elderly parents. Times of caring for the parents were described in depth from the perspective of the adult caregiver. This article gives a great outlook on the emotional roller coaster that the adult caregiver goes on and how this affects her deeply. How This Influenced My Thinking: This article made me really think about how difficult it would be to care for an elderly adult that is affected by dementia or Alzheimer's disease. The elderly begin to withdraw from activities they love because of an illness, for example. Little by little, they lose their independence and remove themselves from social networks. How this influenced my thinking:It's is sad to think that some elderly will withdraw themselves from society when they lose independence. It is important that as family, we keep in touch with our elderly family members and keep them as close to society as possible.
