I myself am fascinated with religion, I am fascinated at the different types of religions that exist and the different faiths that people have and put into their religion, creator, and God. It still amazes me that the world is still spinning with so many conflicts with each religion. How This Influenced My Thinking: it made me realize that I am not the only one that is fascinated with religion and that is intrigued with the fact that people go crazy over who's religion is "right" or "better" Credibility: From Open Salon a viewed Blog that users from around the world post and comment.

    Title- why religion matters author-Patrick F. Fagan date-Jan 25th 1996 why relevant and summary- this site provided many supporting examples as to how religion influences a child's upbringing. This give my paper some depth and intertwined different view points. how this influenced me- i wasn't really influenced by this site because it didn't add anything that i hadn't heard before. It might influence a person more if they are not as familiar with religion, specifically Christianity, as i was. credibility-the site seems pretty credible. It is a .org website, and was written by someone with a PHD in his area of study.

How this influenced my thinking:Having a connection with God and the church is very beneficial. It can make you a better person by trying to do good for others, yourself and family. There is some advice given to those parents as well as some facts regarding benefits and drawbacks of growing up with a religion. How This Influenced My Thinking: I have always believed growing up with a religion is important and that it does make a person more likely to associate their lives with positive things, but it is interesting to read and learn about some of the drawbacks Credibility of Source: this is an article from ABC news and it involves a person's actual experience.

    Title: How Does Religion Affect the Lives of Adolescents? Date: 11-30-2005 Author: Jennifer Elliot Summary and why important: This was an excellent article about religion and adolescence. It was well written, had great sources, it taped onto this issue from all the sides. It talked about the media's influence, how recent religious scandal might or have affected faith in our young generation and it explained that religion is one of the factors that influences adolescents to make the right choices and not the only one. How it has change my thinking: I liked this article because it seemed impartial, it did not glorify or vilify those who practice religion and those who do not. It was realistic, it explained some great concepts, and everything was backed by research. Credibility: the author has a BS in Mass Communication, a BS in Psychology and is a Certified Mental Health Technician. This article was published on yahoo! voices which is a great website with a good reputation.

It helps to focus on what can really affect the child when religion is involved in a family life.     Title: Parenting Styles: The Four Styles of Parenting Author: Kendra Cherry Date Published: no date Why Relevant and Summary: This articles gives a brief and to the point overview of the four parenting styles identified by Diana Baumrind consistent with two dimensions of parenting recognized: demandingness and responsiveness. It goes over the impact that each parenting style could or would be more likely to have on a child and explains the many factors that impact why there are different styles and why parents don't just all raise their children the same . (ie personality, family size, parental background, socioeconomic status, educational level and religion.) How This Influenced My Thinking: This gave a clear, straightforward description of the four distinct parenting styles. It has made me think that when I am raising a child that I need to make sure that I remain an authoritative and not cross the line to authoritarian or even the permissive parent. I'm not afraid to admit that I'm not perfect and this has made me realize how extremely important it is to be aware of how I respond or control situations while helping my child develop in a healthy manner. Although it's only an outline of the marriage preparation classes, it definitely helps to give the key points of what is needed before getting married such as sacraments and also includes how Religion plays an important role within the marriage. How this influenced my Thinking: This website made me realize what a marriage consist of. For many people like me one usually thinks that married life is the best time of one's life and there is no problems that come with it, but reality is that a lot of work has to be put towards the marriage from both parts in order to have a successful marriage. This article definitely made it clear that a marriage has a lot of components. Credibility: Seems credible since it's from a parish website

    Title: Identity formation Author: Rice and Dolgen Date published: 2002 Why relevant and summary: This article was a good summary of identity formation and a good in-depth look at James Marcia's four identity status' that make up his theory of identity formation. How this influenced my thinking: I have always been intrigued about what makes people who they are and why some have such a strong personality or sense of who they are while others seem lost as to who they are. This article made me think that mabe the amount of dramatic experiences one faces creates their personality or who they want to be. Credibility of source: I think this came from a book, seems credible most of the info was very similar to wikipedia.

    Title: Identity Formation Author: Rice and Dolgin Date Published: 2009 Why Relevant and summary: On this article it discusses different stages that an individual may be in or is going through regarding their identity. It goes in depth on identity formation stages, regarding politics, religion, a vocational goal and more clearly defined sex roles. How this influenced my thinking: I can relate to it because I can relate to some of the stages and understand them better. I also became more informed. Credibility of Source: It seems credible I believe it came from a book perhaps even a textbook.
