It is a reflection on a study conducted on more than 21,000 couples in all the United states and gives 10 easy tips on what to do to improve your marriage and also gives the top 10 reasons that cause problems for a marriage. I think it is an easy piece to read for everyone at every stage of their married life. How it changed my thinking: Most of the tips are common sense that everyone will agree to it but more than often we fail to follow; reading them kind of reinforces their message. Credibility of source: The website "first things first" is a non profit grass roots organization that came to be as a tool to help the residents of Hamilton county , Tennessee. Apparently they have a high divorce rate and other relationship and children rearing issues and this website offers advice, support and education on hoe to deal with family problems on a day to day basis. Dozens of books are written every year about the things that go wrong in marriage. Now one of America's foremost marriage researchers has evaluated the things that go right in marriage. David H. Olson, founder of Life Innovations and one of the creators of the Prepare/Enrich marriage enrichment tools, has surveyed 21,501 married couples in all 50 states to identify the top ten strengths of happy marriages.

How This Influenced My Thinking: Explained to me how those with autism can be highly functioning and very intelligent, yet it is important that we recognize when they might not be able to meet our expectations when it comes to social norms. Author: Elizabeth Weil Date Published: March 30th, 2012 Why Relevant and Summary: It goes through the very basic changes that are seen in puberty, but it's discussing these changes happening in very young girls. In this article, they describe the situation of a little girl in the first grade! How This Influenced My Thinking: Made me aware of what I was consuming and how I may decide to raise my children. It is concerning that there's a possibility of "outside" estrogen causing this early onset of puberty. It's also interesting that we do not note this trend in boys. Credibility of Source: Good - NY Times is very popular. The article contains advice from a variety of doctors and professionals.

Current data of emerging trends, is stated clearly, logically, and within the standards of psychological research. A handy table of contents allows the reader to explore varying and related sub-topics with ease. How this influenced my thinking: This paper presents many terms which are relevant to this topic, but of which I was previously unaware of. We need to normalize breastfeeding in our society. How This Influenced My Thinking: Breastfeeding long term is biologically normal, but not socially normal. The more we see the benefits and see mothers continuing to breastfeed, the more socially normal it will become. I am proud to call Jamie Grumet a friend of mine. title-ADHD author- multiple (its a governmental website) date-ND why relevant/summary-This site is relevant to my topic because it describes ADHD in a way that it easy to understand and break down. It discusses the 3 subtypes of adhd that i didnt even know existed. And it tells you what it used to treat it. how it influenced my thinking- This site influenced my thinking on what adhd is because before, i thought it was a straight forward disorder that people took medication for. But after visiting this site, i realized that there are different types, and it affects people differently. Not everyone is medicated for it, and many people go through life undiagnosed. credibility of source- credible since its a government website

It gives several examples on how to make your child grateful for everything and in the process it also helps children to be more social and overcome shyness. How this influenced my thinking: This article was very helpful. I was aware of all of the examples but it definitely made me put in action the examples whenever I have a toddler, because I definitely want them to be well educated and respectful. How did this influence my thinking?: This article makes clear many aspects of ADHD that I had not thought of or known about prior to reading it. Source Credibility: Very credible. Not only did the author include relevant personal opinions but included many citations from medical professionals in many different fields of medicine.

It brings up the links with SIDS and the benefits to the mother and child who practice co-sleeping. How this influenced my thinking: These findings showed me that there are benefits to co-sleeping and that bonding can take place while sleeping. Credibility of source: Ph.D. Research done at University of California's Irvine School of Medicine.

Author : Satoshi Kanazawa Date : 10/03/2010 Why Relevant and Summary: It's relevant because in my paper, I discuss the debate of age difference in relationships. This article provides support in the maturation of girls and boys and why some people prefer the age difference and why some people may not. How This Influenced My Thinking It helps my thinking to understand where my husband and I are at in our marriage to where we were when we dated in high school. I was more mature than he was, but now he has matured and to be more intelligent than I am but we are equally mature enough. We are also 3 days apart in age.

This is perfect for my paper since it tells me exactly what I need to know. She goes from physical changes all the way to the changes on the inside of the body and mentally as well. How This Influenced My Thinking: This just enlightened me on all the changes that I am eventually going to go through as I age.
