4 Typical eLearning Projects and The Right eLearning Authoring Tool Some of the most rewarding moments in my career are times when a colleague or client asks with wonderment, "How did you do that?" after viewing an eLearning module or Just In Time training tool or resource I have created. My initial reply to this question is nearly always to list the learning technologies I used. I guess that somewhere in my mind I expect them to go out, get a copy of the software and start using the tool themselves, and so they really need this information. I am preparing a presentation on the future of e-learning for HE education. Any suggestions on best technologies? What do you think will be here in 5 years and has a good pedagogical basis? A polticial question - does everyone wish that others have an improved learning experience? Education is an economic, job unemployment, citizen compliance, conformance, etc. issue. Having left my soapbox of babble - I would like to see a visual, immersive board that is haptic and responsive to my learning whims. My learning world will change as I touch a topic, reference, picture, sound, etc - that may all be related or not.I would like to become a hologram sitting in a virtual environment listening and seeing Homer with discussions going on with many others who debate him on his philosophy as it pertains to us today. Dreaming is OK with me.

A friend of mine has a kid with special needs. So he asked "how can I help my children learn?" "What the eLearning Industry is doing for children with special needs?" These were taught questions and as you can understand I begun the research. While I begun my research I saw the TCEA. What is the TCEA. The TCEA (Texas Computer Education Association) is dedicated to the improvement of teaching and learning through the use of computers and technology. Nice mission statement I can say. I've seen a couple of recommendations for tools and software on here seperately. I'm a freelance Instructional Designer, in my first year as an independent. I'm finding tools here and there, as I'm trying to minimize operating costs where possible. Individually it seems that many ID's and consultants have their favorite go-to tools that they know. I think it would be really great for us to pull together a list of free ID tools into one area. For example, someone in this group recommend Jing as an alternative to Snagit.
