How would you put together an eLeanring portfolio of work samples when all your work has been proprietary/confidential? I need to create some materials in PowerPoint and Captivate to display my skills to potential clients, but it all has to be "fictional" as I can't use the work I've done previously. If you've been in the same boat, how do you pick your topics, based on the skills you want to highlight? Would you pick an existing program and create a tutorial for it? Work on a basic topic like choosing a car? What's worked best for you in impressing a potential client?

"How would you go about converting a face to face course to an elearning format?" Specifically: What are the criteria for determining if a face to face course actually is convertible to elearning? Assuming the course is convertible, what are the considerations when determining whether synchronous or asynchronous elearning is best? Several professionals in the Learning industry want to convert their f2f courses into an eLearning format. However, several of them do the same mistake again and again. They believe that by simply moving their content such as PowerPoint presentations, videos, audios, and documents to a Learning Management System that they have converted their face to face courses to an eLearning format. I have some legacy Flash projects that are up for revamp, it has simple interactive quiz type questions. If you were in my position, would you switch to HTML5? Moreover, I am looking at interactive "games" software etc Raptivity, it's almost entirely in Flash. Would you recommend buying Raptivity? I'm really sorry to say that it's stupid for the whole world to be trying to get rid of a technology that is working well and pervasive. Many of us have invested heavily in Flash. Am I to think now that I have to avoid Flash? Obviously, the games and fun interactive activities like crossword puzzles, etc are most suitable for Mobile devices. However, many of us invested heavily in Flash and non-technical as I am, I question if HTML5 can indeed replace Flash. I just want to hear your views.
