TOP 5 tips to Convert your Traditional Course into an eLearning format - 1 views

  •
"How would you go about converting a face to face course to an elearning format?" Specifically: What are the criteria for determining if a face to face course actually is convertible to elearning? Assuming the course is convertible, what are the considerations when determining whether synchronous or asynchronous elearning is best? Several professionals in the Learning industry want to convert their f2f courses into an eLearning format. However, several of them do the same mistake again and again. They believe that by simply moving their content such as PowerPoint presentations, videos, audios, and documents to a Learning Management System that they have converted their face to face courses to an eLearning format. In my opinion, they have convert their traditional courses to an electronic format. In this post I will present you the TOP 5 tips to Convert your Traditional Course into an eLearning format.

eLearning 101 - 0 views

eLearning 101 is the first of a five part series that covers the basics of what developers should know about building online courses. Congratulations on becoming an eLearning developer! You are on your way to creating your first course. Take a few moments to familiarize yourself an introduction to eLearning There are various software's to use to build eLearning. My favortie is Adobe Captivate because it is a dynamic robut eLearning development tool which offers developers the ability to convert pertinent training information into web delivered and self-paced courses. If you are lucky, you will be part of a development team were you can work with a variety of subject matter experts (SME's) who provide documentation, scripting, images and other assets which can contribute to a course being created. As an eLearning developer it is important that you are able to effectively communicate the benefits and features of the eLearning developer's program. Being able to describe the value of the program and your development skills will ensure that you gain the support of your supervisors, peers and intended audience. Think about the value of the course(s) you are creating and communicate this value to your team.

Planning your eLearning course is the most important step. The worst experience anyone can encounter in an e-learning environment is finding traditional written training materials simply moved to the computer screen. Talk about a high snooze-factor! And this is not only boring -- it's ineffective training and a waste of time for everyone involved. Planning your eLearning course is the most important step. Instructional Design Strategy for Achieving Alignment - 2 views

  •
Instructional Design Strategy for Achieving Alignment Which Comes First, Activities or Assessments? We have been told all our lives to put things in order. Keep your tax files in order. Keep your house in order. Alphabetize your index. Number your chapters. Write the introduction before the conclusion. Yet, sometimes actually doing things in the order in which they appear as a final product is not the most effective approach. Take course design for example. When we see the finished product of an online course, we see the objectives followed by activities and resources, and finally the assessment. While this sequence may be the logical order for the published course, it is not necessarily the most effective approach for the design process, especially when alignment is a critical focus. http://elearningindustry.com/instructional-design-strategy-for-achieving-alignment

The Free version of easygenerator has many of the functionalities that the 'paid' version has. The most important is that it has all the educational functionalities that sets easygenerator apart from the competition. For example, Learning objectives can be managed in an adaptive dashboard, placing them in the heart of the design and the eLearning course. The adaptive dashboard will also enable you to set the progress for the course per objective and create rules for study advices. Also, courses can be published in SCORM and HTML.

Educational Pinball - Comparing eLearning to a Game of Pinball Recently I had been trying to think of an effective way of visualising the e-learning process and the mechanics behind it, which would allow me to give a more considered approach for the courses on which I am working, and strengthen the effectiveness of the learning content. In addition this would help me improve my ability to clearly explain the reasoning behind my course material development. http://elearningindustry.com/educational-pinball-comparing-elearning-to-a-game-of-pinball
