Upload and share your favorite lesson plans or powerpoints and win a vacation - 0 views

  •
I share on this site but it is a great place to find resources. It is the largest network of English speaking teachers in the world and they are launching in the US this year. When I saw this, I thought some of you on break might like to share. I like the site because the resources are free and it is curated.

100 Activities for Parents and Kids to do over the break - 0 views

  •
Although this was designed for summer, the list has a lot of ideas that parents can do with children over the break. While I do leave time for my kids to have a break, I do try to find things that will encourage their love of learning that I sneak in there kind of like sneaking vegetables into things without them knowing. Have a great break! Teachers might want to download and share with parents headed on break.

I love seeing lessons like this. Using the "night at the Museum" on the wii, the purpose is to teach non fiction, persuasion, advertising. I think that teachers could create more interesting resources like this. If you try this, please let me know. Looks really neat.

Year Long Technology Project (US Grade 9) - Resources - TES - 2 views

  •
I uploaded my "Freshman Project" to the @Tesconnect website. This is a very large network of teachers that I'm using now as it links with English speaking classrooms outside the US. This is the assignment that begins the year long project in my class as students design their own project. This is based upon the senior project I first saw this summer in Evansville, Indiana. Yes, you need to join TES to download the resource. I am promoting this site as part of some work I'm doing for them (as I disclosed two weeks a go) but it is a great site and I like the work they are doing very much! So join in, share, and download.

Secondary: English: KS3 Drama: Plays by Title teaching resources - TES - 10 views

  •
Here's the page that high school literature teachers will want to go to. On the left hand side you'll see "Sub Sub topic" and you can click  on the play. Click More and you can see even more plays. This way you can find information by play. One of the things I found is a popular resource that uses Simpsons Images linking to Macbeth. (Not sure about copyright but  it is there and is very popular.) Curriculum directors will want to share this with their English departments.

Invisible technology: visible benefits in the classroom - Telegraph - 7 views

  •
As Chris Lehman says about technology - invisible like air but just as necessary... "Ubiquitous computing doesn't dictate that technology devices are used for every aspect of learning, but as trends like 1:1 learning grow in popularity in schools, teachers and pupils will be able to think more strategically about when and where to use computer devices."
