  •
Webspiration is an online version of the software Inspiration. It is very simple to use to create your own graphic organizers. If could be used to create custom graphic organizers for your presentation and easily shared with the participants through Google Docs or a simple .jpg. Webspiration allows for the create to generate their own customized graphic organizer, many of the other graphic organizer websites do not allow you to customize them. This is an example of essential learning since the learner organizes their new learning in a way that is best for them, thus moving the learning into the working memory.
  •
Webspiration is an easy to use concept mapping resource which allows users to design and manage their own learning webs. Compared to other similar programs, this site is very similar to Inspiration, and Kidspiration, used frequently in elementary schools. Final products can be easily shared, saved and downloaded into other media such as Word documents, Google Docs, and also can be used for collaboration. Various designs allow learners to individualize their maps according to their needs.
  •
On this site, users are able to create graphic organizers from brainstorming sessions. Similar to other online sites, multiple users are able to collaborate on a single graphic organizer. I chose this site because of the ease of use and the collaboration options.
  •
This website is another example of Graphic organizers that can be used collaboratively by the instructor and learners or by learners who are working on collaborative assignments.
  •
What it does: allows you to build a mind map organizer of your thoughts, plans, or ideas. Why this one: It is free. It is very intuitive and user friendly. It allows for collaboration. You can protect it so only those you authorize can change it. Learning benefits: For essential learning, it provides an outline and overview. For generative learning, it allows a learner to branch off into possibilities and extensions. It also can help the user organize their thoughts and ideas.
  •
In my workshop, the participants will use this site to create a graphic organizer to help them organize their notes as they navigate the workshop. The mywebspiration site is strong on active processing (Mayer, 2009) as the user must take in the material and actively process it in order to produce the synthesis of the information in the form of a mindmap.
  •
Webspiration is a great website that allows you to create graphic organizers. It is free, easy to use, and very useful. I like this web resource because it is easy to use and creates very nice graphic organizers.
  •
The Webspiration free site offers users the ability to build a mind map to organize thoughts, plans, and ideas for any subject. \nWhy this one: The mind maps help foster collaboration among teachers. The program allows the user to complete outlines associated for each organizer ensuring essential learning. The teacher is able to organize their thoughts and ideas providing the learner with additional activities associated with generative learning.\n
  •
This site allows you to create custom graphic organizers. There are many templates and lots of clip art to choose from. I like this site because you can upload your graphic organizer as a word document or save it to a web page that others can access.
  •
    * Webspiration allows a teacher to create a free Webspiration classroom. The site allows users to create collaborative mind maps that lend themselves to generative learning.

This is a great online alternative to Power Point. It allows you to create power point style presentations that can be shared via a url or downloaded. It is a great alternative first, because its free and still offers most of the common options used in Power Point. Being able to share it via url, and allow the users to download it as an html.

This site allows the user to create a slide show presetnation from anywhere without having to use PowerPoint. The only thing needed is a web browser and this is compatible with IE 7, Firfox and Camino. What I liked best about this site is its ease of use and that all members can work on the same presentation at the same time. also, there is no limit to the number or length of the presentation. You even have 250MB to store photos.
  •
What it does: It is a simplified version of Power Point allowing a user to create slides. Why this one: It is free and easy to use. It is also web-based so that teachers do not need to copy it into folders, files, or CDs. The recurring theme that I have tried to maintain is the need for simplicity and efficient use of time. Creating multimedia presentations are but a small fraction of the enormous number of jobs a teacher must complete. This application, while more limited than Power Point, does allow teachers to complete a project in less time. Learning benefits: Teachers can quickly create a number of messages for essential learning using this package. as well, they can incorporate mind maps, graphic organizers, or other tools to expand the learning process into generative thinking.
  •
The free web based presentation software program allows teachers to create presentations without having an Internet connection. \nWhy this one: The presentation software program is easy to use and generates the slides as web pages. The programs allows users to have unlimited online collaboration. Generative thinking supported through mind maps and graphic organizers.\n
  •
PreZentIt is a free presentation, web-based program for creating, editing and presenting images and text. This seems almost the same as creating a powerpoint presentation, except it allows multiple user editing simultaneously, and is on the cloud, so isn't 'stuck" on a computer, when you need it in another location.
  •
Very easy to use site for creating online, collaborative presentations (a la PowerPoint). The site offers very little in terms of how-to information, and it is primarily at the generative level of cognitive processing, focusing on creating and applying the tool. However, it is a very simple interface, much like PowerPoint stripped down to the basics. Its advantages are ease-of-use, share-ability, privacy options, and the ability to download presentations.
  •
Description: This site requires users to register in order to save and access presentations. It is simple and easy to use. Presentations can be accessed from any computer without downloading special plug-ins. Explanation: This is a good tool for users to create online presentations for sharing or accessing from anywhere. It is preferred to other sites because it is easy to use and free.

How to Use Clickers Effectively - 0 views

  •
This multimedia artifact is a video that demonstrates how to effectively use clickers in the classroom. The video takes educators through a series of steps on using the clickers to promote a higher level of engagement with students. The steps include: how to create a good question, how to foster peer discussions, wrapping up the lesson, and moving forward. I believe this video is a more learner-centered approach to multi-media design as the focus is helping educators reach a deeper level of understanding on how to create a lesson for students that just happens to use clickers as a tool for delivery. a learner-centered approach should expand our cognitive capabilities and the technology is the tool. Museum Box Homepage - 0 views

  •
Museum Box is a great tool for Social Studies teachers and teachers of other content areas. a free tool, it allows teachers and students to create "boxes" of artifacts and information about a topic of their choosing. The focus is on cognitive activity on a student-focused level since users have to think through which artifacts and information would be most effective in terms of presenting the most valuable information about a topic of their own choosing. Even if the teacher assigns the topic to the student, it is still up to the student to choose which items to put in the box. I can see this tool working for Social Studies teachers as a way for their students to present what they have learned about a particular topic, but I can also see it being useful in my English Language arts classroom as a way for my students to present information about the time period in which a novel occurs.

Module 1 Multimedia-SMaRT Board Training Videos Smarttech-http://downloads01.smarttech.com/media/trainingcenter/flash/tutorials/display_frame_basics/display_frame_basics.htm This Smarttech video presentation is a tutorial that introduces and teaches teachers the basic steps on how to use a SMaRT Board. The video uses a learner-centered approach to technology because according to Mayer, it does "compliment human abilities, aid activities that we are poorly suited and enhances the development for which we are ideally suited" (Mayer, 2009, p. 13)." The required active engagement for this video is cognitive because the focus in the video is on the meaning of the presented material and interprets it in light of prior knowledge, YouTube-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hlgGpVpgWo YouTube provides a video presentation on a "SMaRT Board Interactive White Board accessibilities." This video presentation provides teachers with information on how to make the SMaRT Board accessible to all students. The video uses a learner-centered approach to technology because it "takes in account the learners information processing (Mayer, 2009, p. 9)." The required active engagement for this video is cognitive because the focus is on learner adding information to their memory. Bubbl.us - 3 views

This is an excellent collaborative brainstorming tool for creating a mind map. This could be excellent for PreTraining or for a graphic organizer. Imagine your class having this open while you present key information, and they create their mind map of your concepts.

Bubbl.us http://www.bubbl.us/ Bubbl.us is a free application that allows users to brainstorm and think online using colorful mind maps. While this application is a bit different from Webspiration the concept is the same. If you are looking for a very simple and easier to use program for younger students this might just be your answer! With just a hit on the enter key you can quickly and easily design and create spider mind maps. I believe that Bubbl.us is a website that can absolutely help learners think with more organization and it illustrates how connections can be made between information. Compared to Webspiration Bubbl.us seems a bit elementary to my likings for my high school students, but for someone who is working with the elementary crowd this would be perfect because there are not as many bells and whistles to this program. Even though students are still able to modify colors and change the location of the bubbles.
  •
Online bubble maps that can be used in the planning process for presentations. This tool is user-friendly and will allow teachers to share access with each other throughout the workshop. The sharing feature of this tool will also promote the needed collaboration among the group.

This is a free site that allows for brainstorming and creating graphic organizers. It automatically arranges bubbles as you type and allows you to manually arrange them. Bubbl can create colorful mind maps online, share and work with friends and embed mind maps in your blog or website.
  •
This site allows you create mind maps. It easily allows you to branch out your ideas. I like this site because it is easy to use, you simply click an existing bubble and it creates a new branch. It is also very easy to change the font and the color of the bubbles.
  •
Mind map creator. Easy to use, free, and has a variety of presentation options.
  •
Bubbl us is a graphic organizer used to organize ideas. as I viewed the site, I thought I could offer this to my students who might be intimidated by the use of graphic organizers on the web. Using this site might reduce the extraneous process because the goal is to organize thoughts not learn a new tool.
  •
The is online mind mapping software whre participants can create a graphic organizer online. Graphic organizers can be shared with friends or saved as a jpeg.

Kerpoof - 0 views

  •
The Kerpoof website is owned and operated by the Walt Disney Company. What is Kerpoof? The answer to that is not so simple. Kerpoof is all about having fun, discovering things, and being creative. Teachers and students can use Kerpoof to make artwork, make an animated movie, students can earn Koins which you can trade for fun things in a store, make a printed card, t-shirt, or mug, tell a story, and make a drawing. Kerpoof has free lesson plans for a variety of disciplines, from math and science to social studies and foreign languages available for download. Educators can register students and arrange them into classes. Students may chat with each other, post creations on a class message board (moderated by the teacher), and collaborate on a project in real-time from different computers. State and National Standards are cross-referenced with Kerpoof they can be used to meet. Kerpoof also publishes a free electronic newsletter that highlights new features, lesson plans, and ideas for using Kerpoof in the classroom.

The Reflective School by Peter Pappas by Peter Pappas on Prezi - 0 views

  •
In this Prezi, Pappas (2011) has designed a presentation that prompts the viewer to think about the reflective culture of a school. Coupled with the content in Pappas' (2010, January) blog series, "a Taxonomy of Reflection: Critical Thinking for Students, Teachers and Principals," a learner-centered orientation to the process and importance of reflection in schools and learning is achieved. Embedded in the presentation itself are prompts to gain viewers' attention and provide opportunities to consider questions relevant to the content. as noted by Mayer (Laureate Education, 2010), the effectiveness of a technology is based on its application, guided by instructional method. While Prezi is receiving a lot of enthusiasm as an alternative to Power Point, effective use of this tool still relies on the designers' ability to create content that will effectively promote learning.
