Georgia Performance Standards - 0 views

  •
This is the best resource for authentic assessment activities for my multimedia workshop. Teachers that participate in my workshop will have to be able to utilize the performance standards from GA and incorporate some of the authentic assessments from those standards. This site is a good resource for all of my teachers.

The ISO 9000 standards can be applied to the design and development of software, just as ISO 9000 certification do to the manufacture of hard goods and the delivery of services.

Included are headings on * What is Authentic Assessment? * Why use it? * How do you create Authentic Assessment? * What are the standards, tasks, and rubrics? * How to construct tests. Of the sites explored, this was the most comprehensive, easy to follow, and relevant.

This site is a how-to text on creating authentic tasks, rubrics, and standards for measuring and improving student learning. The site provides good examples for developing standards or authentic tasks or rubrics. It also gives you step by step directions for creating an assessment. This site is one that I would use often becuase it takes the worrying out of authentic assessment it makes it easier and it's user friendly.

Study Island - 0 views

  •
The Study Island program is specifically designed to help students master the Tennessee Curriculum Standards. Study Island's focus on the required standards enables students to improve their performance in all standard skill areas, which results in increased proficiency and leads to improved test scores for Math, Reading/Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. Students can use Study Island from any computer with internet access. This will help students prepare for TCAP (Tennessee's state assessment) as well as for next year's learning. Blue ribbons show mastery in the Subject Areas and Topic Areas assessed on TCAP. As students advance through the objectives, they can use games or test mode to complete tasks and achieve blue ribbons. I have seen this learner centered program really boost student learning in science and social studies, subjects I feel are often left to cram in at the end of the day. It appeals to students at various grade and learning levels. It is repetitive and gives direct instruction for areas of need.

MasteryConnect - 0 views

    * Mastery Connect allows teachers to assess any content and curriculum, monitor student achievement, and report student mastery to parents and administrators. It provides curriculum maps, multi-standard benchmark assessments, integrated standards-based resources and allows for remediation and re-teaching. * I found Mastery Connect to be better than other authentic assessment activity resources due to the ability to view current mastery status of all students aligned with state and Common Core Standards, and to have built in resources to assist struggling students.

Kerpoof - 0 views

  •
The Kerpoof website is owned and operated by the Walt Disney Company. What is Kerpoof? The answer to that is not so simple. Kerpoof is all about having fun, discovering things, and being creative. Teachers and students can use Kerpoof to make artwork, make an animated movie, students can earn Koins which you can trade for fun things in a store, make a printed card, t-shirt, or mug, tell a story, and make a drawing. Kerpoof has free lesson plans for a variety of disciplines, from math and science to social studies and foreign languages available for download. Educators can register students and arrange them into classes. Students may chat with each other, post creations on a class message board (moderated by the teacher), and collaborate on a project in real-time from different computers. State and National Standards are cross-referenced with Kerpoof they can be used to meet. Kerpoof also publishes a free electronic newsletter that highlights new features, lesson plans, and ideas for using Kerpoof in the classroom.

Makes Sense Strategies - 4 views

  •
This site is a source for a variety of graphic organizers. It allows students/teaches to visually organize data in ways that make sense to them. This site if better than other because it offers more designs to choose from.
  •
    * Makes Sense Strategies creates SMARTSheets™ that are research based visual teaching tools or graphic organizers on steroids! The SMARTSheets™ are specialized, discipline specific graphic organizers that can be tailored individually to each student to address Common Core State Standards and enhance highly engaging strategic instruction.
    * I found Makes Sense Strategies to be better than other graphic organizer websites because it provides a research-based tool of resources to assist teachers with the implementation of the Common Core State Standards. The plethora of resources for K-12 teachers of all subject areas is a bonus few other graphic organizer websites have.

Through the use of iMovie participants will create a short digital story. iMovie is a user-friendly programt hat allows you to integrate any of the pictures, audio, and videos on your Apple computer into one movie. iMovie is one of the simpler to use video creation softwares available for Apple, and it also comes standard with the computer. Through the use of iMovie the participant will be engaged in generative learning since it is their motivation as a learner that will determine the success of their digital story that they create.

Graphic Organizers Links - 0 views

  •
    * Name of the site: Graphic Organizer Links * URL: http://www.nvo.com/ecnewletter/graphicorganizers/ * Brief description of what it allows you to do and how it can be used for essential or generative learning: This site has multiple uses for graphic organizer templates. It also seems to have been developed by Texas educators to connect education with technology. It has links to the other states as well. I intend for the teachers in my workshop to access standards for their state or region, and this site will allow that. * Brief explanation of why you found this site to be better than others you found (e.g., more effective, creates better products, easier to use, and so on): It is so rich in graphic organizers, but it is useful in other ways as well.
