    The Following are websites that are learner-centered and beneficial for helping ELA teachers become more familiar with CCSS expectations for technology use. (This is a requirement for EDUC8847 Multimedia class).

    http://www.essaytagger.com/commoncore - This website allow for practice in creating CCSS aligned rubrics. The user would be making decisions on what type of rubric to create, the criteria of the rubric, the standards to be represented in the rubric.


    http://www.teachthought.com/technology/exactly-what-the-common-core-standards-say-about-technology/ - One would read this article to find out what Common Core says about technology.

    http://readingandwritingproject.com/resources/common-core-standards/ccs-videos.html - The Reading and Writing Project website is learner-centered because it offers a variety of videos (multimedia) that supplement the written information by providing real-world examples

    Brainpop is learner-centered. Brainpop takes a topic and uses technology "as an aid to human cognition." (Mayer, 2009) The focus isn't on the technology being used but on the content being explained. This website is primarily for grades 3-5. However there is Brainpopjr. that contains concepts for k-2. The difference is the standards for the grade levels and the language is more appropriate or simplified for each group. This is more of a cognitive activity in which children listen to the video.

    This is a learner-centered website that allows students to listen and watch a video that will enhance a student's knowledge on the topic being discussed. This is a cognitive activity. There is no behavioral activity involved other than hitting play. The student is to listen to the lecture, discussion, or forum that is giving the information on the topic.

    This website has a virtual incubator that allows people to work together to find the most valuable ideas to help with energy. This is a technology-centered environment. "The focus is generally on cutting-edge advances"(Mayer, 2009) that will assist with energy to better improvements. This is more of a behavioral activity in that each person must actively participate and provide information from what has been gathered beforehand. It is also cognitive in nature because the participants are sharing ideas and combining ideas to make energy better for everyone.
