Children (and most adults) love looking at themselves on a webcam and this flash based site lets you add over 70 filters and effects. Use the snapshot button to grab an image. There are lots of ways to use this tool in class. Use the mirror functions in maths for symmetry and compile a music video by adding a screencast tool.

(A "push-back" response is simply the natural human resistance to change. Any time that one attempts to change a child's behavior the child will resist. Add punishment and you will insure more resistance to change.)

Youth Voices is a vibrant home for young writers seeking an authentic audience and a space to publish writing across a wide range of genres. The site is essentially a social network, so students can easily align their interests and make meaningful connections with other young writers. Students touch on issues ranging from the environment and politics to personal narrative stories and video gaming. Some students also add multimedia components like video.

"A supermarket chain in South Korea has come up with a way to allow commuters to do their shopping while they wait for the subway. They hung life size banners along subway walls that recreate supermarket aisles and included QR codes for each item on the virtual shelves that when scanned add the item to the shopper's online cart. When customers check out, the order is placed via the supermarket's website and then delivered to the customer's home later that day."
Look at how thinking differently changed the way people shopped for groceries in Korea. As educators, can't we find a way to think this differently too so we can change education...putting the learners at the center.
This site creates video windows using videos from YouTube and Facebook. It adds a link button and a customised launch page. Best of all, it blocks any pop up ads during and the suggested videos after the video. Embed on your site or share with a link.
