obesity is a social issue because it is closely linked with discrimination. A person is easily viewed differently not only by their looks but most commonly, their weight. They are seen as lazy, slow, and ugly just because they are a different size.

Childhood obesity can cause a kids mental health to go bad. It is very common for a child to get made fun of by other children because of their weight. The negativity the child is receiving will soon result in a low self esteem, depression, and more.

The prevention of obesity is very important because even though it may seem bad already, it just gets worse. Awareness is key that way those who are struggling with obesity will understand that being overweight will just lead to certain deaths or disabilities.
