I really like the use of "trigger words" in education. I don't think it matters if it is used in college or in K12. The whole point is to alert you to a possible trauma causing conversation or topic that could come up in class that could make someone uncomfortable. Unfortunately there are so many triggers in the world today that you could never call out all of them. The teacher made reference to an apple. Who would think that was a trigger? Not I.

Conserving water is a must. We need water to do most of our living. We really don't think about water when we wash our hands, taking a shower, or even watering our lawn.

Agreed! Water is essential for everyone and we are wasting tons of it. Lots of us not even knowing! We recently had a person from our water company come to our home and tell us we were using too much water. Turns out we had a toilet constantly running. Makes you wonder how many other places are affected not even knowing.

Wow, the US used 170 gpd per capita while other counties like Australia only use 36! That is crazy. I completely agree that we should limit our water usage not just because it is wasteful, but also in my article it pointed out the benefits on our ecosystem.

Technology has and will always be a huge part of my life. Having grown up with a brother heavily into gaming, programming, and IT work I got to see first hand the in's and out's of how the web works. It all comes down to how you manage your own security. Of course, there will always be the paranoia of being monitored but that has been happening for a long time. It all comes down to being cautious with what you do alone and or over technologies.

The extent of these programs capacity to siphon user data iset deeply guarded and not known in detail, however the dossiers gathered by our internet traffic on an individual basis should alarm users. I belive privacy is priceless, if I told my grandfather who passed in 2006 the extent we divulge our personal information on social media he would probably find it unbelievable. It shows in one of the summary that a school can consider pizza as a vegetable because of the tomato paste they use as sauce and how we are so used to the GMO in foods that the organic stuff doesn't taste as good to use and makes people not want to buy it, not to mention the higher price of the food that is better for you.

To me that wasn't very shocking. I know that mountain dew is banned in Europe because of a toxic chemical(brominated vegetable oil BVO) that is illegal in Europe to use in food. And there are many more I know of. It is scary that in this country nobody really cares about educating people about what they eat. What is worse is that the perception is, that the government doesn't give a damn about what is in our food.

It's so sad to see America keep rising on the list for obesity. It honestly makes me scared to eat certain foods. Foods with GMO's are nearly no where near what they used to be. They used to be so mild and didn't have all of the other crazy chemicals in them. I wish we would go back to how it used to be. I can't wait to get my own house so that I can have my own little chickens and my own garden.

I found this article pretty interesting. I never really realized that were were using the UAV's until my sister in law started flyng one. She is a pilot in the air force and flys the UAV's into enemy territory from her basement in South Dakota. I feel in this case that it is a valuable asset. I agree we need to take better care of our elderly people, not just to treat them respectfully which should be a given, but to take time to listen to them. Our parents give us life. They take care of us and make sacrifices for us. Then when the time comes, it is our duty to do the same. Beyond that, their lifetime of experience can benefit us all.

This was very difficult to watch. As a child whose parent was diagnosed with fronto-temporal dementia, I had no choice but to place her in an assisted living home. Even though I didn't live far from the facility, it was hard to get information from staff. A few staff members were there for years, and I feel fortunate that they took really good care of my mother. I don't think this same experience happens for a lot of people.
