It is really sad that as humans we have to fight for clean water. The subject shouldn't even be a concern, it should be a priority. We need to continue to fight for the the government to see this.
  •
It is sad to think that the water we use for our daily necessities can be poisoned. Greedy companies are too concerned with money, they overlook our health. The article states that the longer this goes on, the more money we have to spend, so shouldn't that be an eye opener?

It is so sad that humans have to fight for clean water. Also it is horrible to think of all he children this happens to on a daily basis.

Addressing the Global Refugee Crisis - 0 views

  •
Amanda B. Clinton wrote an article talking about the crisis refugees are facing with psychological health. She stated that the APA Office of International Affairs hosted a program called the International Learning Partner Program in Kosovo. 10 U.S. based psychologists who joined the program in Kosovo allowed people like Ilir, an expert in Balkan culture, who had no choice but to flee his country.According to United Nations High Commissions on Refugees every 20 minutes people leave everything behind in order to escape the terror of war and persecution. Okazaki, Haarlammert, Guler and Liu (2019), indicated that psychology has never been more important than it is today. With the strong leadership in the APA evidence on the recognition of the refugees rights has increasingly gotten a lot better.

I enjoyed reading this article because it was very informative. Not only did the article provide statistics in regards to how much water we need for our everyday food intake but it also allows the reader to understand how much money is put into making that food for us to eat. It focuses on the fact that switching to a vegan like or vegetarian diet worldwide would be significantly beneficial to our growing population.
  •
This article had interesting but scary statistics. Especially the statistic on how much water it takes to produce certain food items. I never realized just how much water society uses to function. In addition, humans are reaching the carrying capacity of the world far too fast. The author makes good suggestions for how to fix this issue. The solutions are not only answering the problem of a food shortage but also climate change.
  •
This was honestly eye opening seeing how much water is used everyday for even the most simplest of things. Reading about how much water it takes to produce food and how much of ends up being wasted in alarming. I recommend this article for anyone who has a topic that relates to this social issues at it provided in depth details on the matter. It's crazy knowing how much water we use daily without knowing how valuable it is, especially now.
  •
The article is so true about water scarcity being our demise, it will be such an catastrophe for the food crisis to strike especially in Arizona. The drought plays a huge part in supporting water scarcity, it dries out our lands and empties out the rivers. There are some good solutions to how to resist against climate change.

Education Is the Key to a Better Quality of Life for Women - 0 views

  •
Education is the key to a better quality life in America. This is particularly important for our country's women because, though women have dominated our workforce, they are often set back by poor life decisions, personal crisis, or just do not have the resources available to succeed. The improvement of education will be a joint effort for everyone involved, including the individual, community, and government leadership.

Custody in crisis: How family courts put children in danger - 1 views

  •
In 2010, a litigated court in Tennessee asserted a family court ruling that congratulated Darryl Sawyer, the primary custody of his almost seven-year-old son, Daniel. The court ruled in favor of Sawyer, aside from the confirmed proof that was spoken of by his ex-wife that he had sexually abused their child, Daniel.

Sharing the burden of the global refugee crisis - 2 views

  •
This article is about the global refugee crisis, and the different stances countries have taken on immigration. It also contains information on the number of refugees in multiple countries.
  •
If we as a global community could establish a kind of program to help provide a home for refugees and for refugees to establish themselves as members of a new nation without discrimination, this would be best for everyone. They are fully capable of contributing and they deserve the opportunity to do so.

Opioid Overdose Crisis | National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) - 1 views

  •
The opioid crisis is bigger than what most people realize. Hundreds of people die daily due to overdosing on opioids, millions affected each year. It all started in the early 90's when everyone said painkillers aren't addictive. Years later everyone finally realized that opioids are indeed very addictive. Opioids need to be prescribed carefully in order to help slowly resolve the issue.

In this article, it shows how this pandemic started. It also informs the readers of what we currently know about the opioid overdose and what we are doing about it.

The Effect of COVID-19 on Homelessness - 1 views

  •
Many people have become homeless due to the pandemic. Landlords are raising the rent in this time of crisis and people aren't able to afford to live anymore. Unemployment rates have also gone through the roof
  •
This was a good, but very sad read. I cant imagine having to be evicted out of my home due to being out of work for something like the pandemic. Something completely out of your control. I know that Arizona temporarily put a notice during the lockdown that those who couldn't pay rent were not allowed to be evicted (I was one of them) but it didn't last long enough. Like the article states, COVID19 has long term affects not short ones meaning more time to recover from its effects are needed.

Hunger crisis and the G7 Leaders Response - 2 views

  •
The world's seven most rich nations talk about how they could help prevent famine in a number of different places around the world. They are supposed to meet every year, however, COVID got in the way of last year's meet, making the hunger crisis grow tremendously. They suspect over 230 million could face the threat of hunger. The response to help prevent malnutrition is underway as of mid-June 2021.
  •
I did not know covid 19 made famine worse. Aid budgets are getting reduced as a result of covid 19 as well.

Hunger crisis deepens in Africa | Africa | DW.COM | 15.03.2016 - 0 views

  •
This article focuses on the food shortage in Africa. Unfortunately, this is affecting many, many adults and children in many countries in Africa. The article advises that the main cause of this food shortage seems to be the drought in these countries. Now I think that if the governments of these countries had some help to get it together, this could really help the people. Some of the countries are also raising the prices of their food, making it harder to buy-- worsening the problem.
