Interesting image sharing App/Site that uses a cell phone App to share nature images with geolocation information. Very much like the citizen journalist movement that mobile devices has caused. We now can have citizen naturalists gathering information and sharing real-time. 

Blackboard is finally taking their scholar function public. Bookmarking for research/instructional purposes i.e. Diigo and Delicious. Good funtionality- notes, highlighting, sharing, groups, tag clouds for classroom sharing. Blackboard kills me, they have huge market share and are just now realizing this would be a good tool, ug. Have to recognize it because so many colleges, high schools have access to it.

Creating slideshows can be an excellent way for students to summarize their learning, share their what they've learned, and to share their ideas. If you have students that create slideshows that you or they think should be shared with a wider audience than that of their immediate peers in the classroom, the web offers many ways to do that. I nice tool to create PPT presentations with audio and to share those presentations. In the development of these PPT sharing tools, this is a nice tool for having students create simple multimedia presentations. 

Great twitter like site designed for schools and classrooms. Great for sharing research and backchannel conversations that have research breaks built into them because students and teachers can embed images, videos, and links for sharing. If a school is concerned about twitter and access, this would be a great classroom alternative. 

This is a compilation of Karl's Transparent Algebra posts. He does such an incredible job of making his thinking visible for all of us in how he is planning his course for the upcoming year. I share it because I think it's a valuable example of a reflective practitioner and worth sharing. ast week I blogged about my Bloomin' Peacock, a new Bloom's Taxonomy visual I made to share with teachers in a training.  Over the years, I have created a number of Bloom's Taxonomy pictures to hang in my classroom for students to refer to.  My Bloomin' Peacock was such a hit with you all, I thought I would start sharing the others I've made.   Today I revived one that I created for my classroom and added the digital version (again the digital tools displayed relate directly to the Treasures reading curriculum).  This is my Um-bloom-ra Bloom's Taxonomy:

Use of an iPod for instructional purposes is cool, but for the work we are doing in Africa this kind of thinking becomes important. The iPod/iPhone can become a way for sharing/organizing/storing documents. Teachers can use the wireless component of the tool to share materials when they have opportunities to gather.

Great opportunity to have students create some expression of their thinking about the topic, "What I wish for in the world". Google is getting some free pub, but what a great way of doing it!

Want a reason to have your students doodle, then this is for you. The best thing is that this lets them doodle around a positive theme. I hope you will share with your art teachers, world civ, or current issues teachers. Heck share with your environmental science teachers too. We can all use a little thinking about "What I wish for the world" in our classrooms.

Pattern blocks are great tools for developing conceptual understanding. I hope to continue to see them used in classrooms, but the virtual kind can allow students to share their thinking with other students virtually. I like using screen capture, cut/paste, upload to a wiki, comment on characteristics/size/description of '1'/and sharing with students so that their thikning can be revisited from multiple venues (home, classroom, internet-broader audience).
