Lesson planning resources advocated by ISTE, what more is there to say. 

Nice well-rounded iPad Launch Proposal from Miguel Guhlin. He is thorough in his plan, and the plan is on-going, long-term, developmental, and shows what success would look like for teachers.  He is upfront about using some of the great ideas of others, and asks for feedback to make it even better. if you are looking for a great framework for working with teachers on developing teacher capacity using mobile devices this is a good place to start. 

In the portal you'll find a dynamic textbook, lesson plans, widgets, interactive Demonstrations, and more built by Wolfram education experts. Absolutely a great resource. Builds in representations, applets, explanations of variable use etc. Great tool.  Since it is in Beta, I am wondering how long it will be free and what their plans are for the future. 

If your school isn't using your technology very effectively then this six step process for creating a technology plan might help you focus your efforts to be more effective. 

This is a compilation of Karl's Transparent Algebra posts. He does such an incredible job of making his thinking visible for all of us in how he is planning his course for the upcoming year. I share it because I think it's a valuable example of a reflective practitioner and worth sharing. Perhaps the easiest Wiki I've ever scene. Anyone, and I mean anyone, can now create a wiki for use with their students or to share information with colleagues. I wonder what their business model is and how long they will be able to sustain this approach, but until then I plan on using orb.com with teachers as a great entry point tool.

Interesting little article identifying how to use web 2.0 tools to achieve school improvement plan goals, but I will say it's the instructional uses and not the tools that makes these goals achievable. Without the understanding (and more importantly) buy-in from teachers to integrate the tools into the classroom SIP goals won't be achievable.

Want to let students explore with real data then welcome to FRED® (Federal Reserve Economic Data), a database of 25,176 U.S. economic time series. With FRED® you can download data in Microsoft Excel and text formats and view charts of data series. Students can explore data, create models & hypothesis, and test their models as the year progresses. If their models aren't working they can go back to their original data set and make changes based on what they've learned and see how those predictions work on new data. The best part is the variety of data that is available.  We plan to continually improve FRED® and encourage you to send feedback through our contact form.

Great set of ideas/resources for using QR codes. I tihnk QR codes have great potential for creation and sharing with mobile tools.  Create a podcast/screencast, put the QR code image on your worksheet/review sheet/unit plan and let students access the information as they need from their phone/smartphone/pad...  Marry print and digital, I love it!

The Technology Integration Matrix (TIM) was developed to help guide the complex task of evaluating technology integration in the classroom. Basic technology skills and integration of technology into the curriculum go hand-in-hand to form teacher technology literacy. Encouraging the seamless use of technology in all curriculum areas and promoting technology literacy are both key NCLB:Title II-D/EETT program purposes. The Inventory for Teacher Technology Skills (ITTS) companion tool is designed to help districts evaluate teachers' current levels of proficiency with technology and is also used as a professional development planning and needs assessment resource. The TIM is envisioned as an EETT program resource which can help support the full integration of technology in Florida schools. What is in each cell? Each cell in the matrix will have a video (or several videos) which illustrate the integration of technology in classrooms where only a few computers are available and/or classrooms where every student has access to a laptop computer. Transformation The teacher creates a rich learning environment in which students regularly engage in activities that would have been impossible to achieve without technology. Active Indicator: Given ongoing access to online resources, students actively select and pursue topics beyond the limitations of even the best school library. Collaborative Indicator: Technology enables students to collaborate with peers and experts irrespective of time zone or physical distances.
