      Iman Al-Obeidi who is a Libyan Postgraduate Law student She first received worldwide media attention during the 2011 Civil Libya War when she was beaten and ganged raped by the 15 men of Libyan troops. she really flashed the sex crime in Libya by the Gaddafi force. Dr. Seham Sergewa had been working with children traumatized by the fighting in Libya but soon found herself being approached by troubled mothers who felt they could trust her with their dark secret.At first, the responses to the questionnaire about the trauma of the war in Libya were predictable, if tragic: 10,000 people suffering post-traumatic stress, 4,000 children with psychological problems. Then came the unexpected: 259 women said they had been raped by militiamen loyal to Muammar Qaddafi. Iman Al-Obeidi and the other women said they had been raped by Qaddafi's militias in numerous cities and towns: Benghazi, Tobruk, Brega, Bayda and Ajdabiya (where the initial three mothers hail from) and Saloum in the east; and Misrata in the west.ome just said they had been raped. Some did not sign their names; some just used their initials. But some felt compelled to share the horrific details of their ordeals on the back of the questionnaire.

    Information Literacy Games: Finding Kermit This blog post features a great video of Kermit the frog singing It Ain't Easy Being Green. It follows up with an explanation of a search game that can be used with the whole class in a lab or on an individual workstation. It's part of a free series of online information literacy / information fluency games available from 21cif.com. Finding Kermit was the inspiration for one of the first Internet Search Challenges created by Dr. Carl Heine. The task is to track down a picture of Kermit ready for graduation in the least amount of time. The search game is embedded on the page so you can try it without going to the main site. Many teachers use this as a whole class lab activity. Put up a search challenge and then it's off the races! Most of these games were developed for middle and high school students. Adults find them challenging as well.

  • insitutional VLEs do indeed tend to suck the lifeblood out of institutions, giving little back
  • Students who are disengaged or bored with homogenous, bland content that sits in the 'Learning Management System'. Disenchanted staff who pay lip service to a lumbering system that very few people really want to use, because either it is too time consuming to use effectively, too difficult to navigate or simply unfit for purpose. The institution suffers too of course, because huge maintenance and upgrade fees and user contracts have to be forked out each year
