Now in its third year, Seattle Symphony's critically acclaimed Sonic Evolution project creates a bridge between the Symphony and Seattle's storied reputation as launching pad for some of the most creative musicians on the popular music scene. Each year, in celebration of the past, present and future of our city's musical legacy, Ludovic Morlot and the Seattle Symphony commission world-class composers to write orchestral world premieres inspired by bands and artists that launched from, or are related to, Seattle.

I really enjoy the video, it is amazing how those flat drawing on paper could look so three dimensional, all of the shading looks so realistic. The artist did a excellent job by cooperating subjects such as pen, desk into the drawing.

lol, this is really an interesting porject, and I remembered that I did the same 3-d picture once like a few months ago. Those picture need unusual painting skills. It is hard, but is full of fun.

Cool housing developing for camping - 1 views

  •
The news has demonstrated the 3D-future sense of the design for the house. The angle of the house on the roof and the way how the house get designed was kind of sense of modern.

For me, this is really cool idea for camping housing design.

How art gives shape to cultural change - 1 views

  •
Thelma Golden, curator at the Studio Museum in Harlem, talks through three recent shows that explore how art examines and redefines culture. The "post-black" artists she works with are using their art to provoke a new dialogue about race and culture - and about the meaning of art itself.

A View from the Easel - 0 views

  •
In the last two years I have interviewed more than thirty artists, writers and other creative people for my own blog, Praeterita. The creative process was a part of every discussion, so I thought I would invite these interviewees to submit a photo and a short description of their workspace to an ongoing series called A View from the Easel. These are their images and their words.

This is pretty cool! Using a unique animation technique involving traditional animation cels and his iphone 5s, Hombre Mcsteez turns everyday life into an odd creature infested cartoon universe.

Art in San Jose: Memorable cities make art a priority - 1 views

  •
When we think about the world's great cities, the features that we remember are their beautiful parks, buildings and art. It's unlikely we think about their balanced budgets or their ability to attract jobs. In fact, one reason that the world's great cities enjoy vibrant economies is because people are drawn to beautiful places.

Portland Saturday Market - 0 views

  •
Portland Saturday Market is celebrating its 41st year in the historic Old Town/ Chinatown neighborhood of Portland, Oregon.  Our weekly market features 252 booths showcasing a variety of arts & crafts sold by local Pacific Northwest artisans. Established in 1976, our market has a thriving membership of over 300 artisans.  "Every Saturday and Sunday from March through Christmas Eve the Old Town/Chinatown neighborhood transforms into a thriving arts and crafts open-air marketplace. Seeing the Market's staff delegate booth spaces with precision each weekend for so many years, most of the neighborhood has come to think of Portland Saturday Market as a business like any other. But it certainly was not always that way, and some surprising elements still lie at the core of this unusual non-profit operation."

I love this! I love farmer's market, but this is more than just a farmer's market. It has many crafted art and different artists participated. It also create a lot of energy in downtown during Saturday morning. Kind of feel more like a big local gathering.
