I really enjoy the video, it is amazing how those flat drawing on paper could look so three dimensional, all of the shading looks so realistic. The artist did a excellent job by cooperating subjects such as pen, desk into the drawing.
  •
lol, this is really an interesting porject, and I remembered that I did the same 3-d picture once like a few months ago. Those picture need unusual painting skills. It is hard, but is full of fun.
  •
3-D painting has become very popular and this is definitely one of the great video demonstrating it!!!

Oregon Ducks Gangnam Style - 2 views

  •
A little bit entertainment. This recreation of 'Gangnam Style' always keeps me entertained and laughing. They incorporated a lot of scenery and places on U of O campus to illustrate the ducks and got a lot of people to join in and take pride in our school.
  •
I agree with this! Even though this is not going on anymore I found it so entertaining to see Oregon and many other schools compete to get the best 'Gangnam Style' video. I liked how you were able to see the aspects of our school through this. Very funny way to showcase the beauty of our school.
  •
This video is awesome! Whether people understood all Korean lyrics and the hidden meanings of the song or not, they made it really great. It reminds me of an idea that art (mainly focusing on entertainment in this case) does not have no boundaries at all.

Root Division, Non-Profit Arts Organization, Affected by Mission Rent Increase - 0 views

  •
The vibrancy of the Mission District is due in large part the artists, art galleries, and arts-based non-profits that call it home. But the once-predominantly Latino community is in the midst of several large changes that will completely alter the vibe of the Mission.

From Nike's project, we can see that even though they have successfully sold their products to people. Nevertheless, when shoes got beat up, people usually just throw it away. Fortunately, Nike has collected shoes for reuse and build couple public facility. This is type of work that working with community and society, which we talked about during the lecture.

This is really cool considering the PR associated with Nike and their impact economically.
  •
I love Nike! and you should watch this video too! The video is about how Nike transforms recycled bottles into jerseys. http://globalgrind.com/2012/04/17/nike-lightest-environmentally-friendly-soccer-jerseys-photos/
  •
I really think this project is awesome. I never thought about recycling worn out dirty shoes, but this is definitely a good idea. My nephew plays soccer and he throws away 2-3 sports shoes every year (which is a lot!!), so I always thought it will be great if there's a way to recycle shoes. I hope more companies or organizations start this kind of projects to save earth.
  •
I think this is a great idea. I would love to know more about it. There is not much other information about it on the internet besides what is in the video. Does anyone know if Nike donates these courts or fields? That would be a great way to give back to the community.
  •
I really like this a lot. This is good for Nike public relations wise and it is smart economically as well. Nike being a progressive company is a positive for everyone involved.

  •
This site is great! Found myself browsing for a while and enjoyed all of the different types of dance and art that it supplied. The range of style and background is entertaining and I was able to use this as inspiration for a possible art world.
  •
This is very useful website to search and find the performances. Yet is it also reports news from a expand world narrative not just a art performance. It is definitely can help me to write the assignment next week to define an art world.

iPhone Alarm Gives You A Seat In A Global Orchestra - 1 views

  •
Wake Up With The World, an iPhone app by Pratt Institute MFA student Eric Rieper, can't solve the repetitive Pavlovian torture of being forced to wake up early every morning, but it can make the horrors of daily wake ups a more positive, communal experience. It's an alarm clock that syncs with other alarm clocks around the world, turning your phone into but one instrument in a global orchestra.

this is so interesting. sometimes i can sleep through the common alarms so to have something this loud and different will for sure wake someone up and make them dread the morning even more.
  •
This is an amazing app and it is for free. As a student the alarm clock it is very useful to wake me up in the morning for school or to reminds me for a certain time to catch up my schedule. The problem is the normal sounds of alarm which can not wake me up sometimes, because I am get use to it and totally can ignore it. This app is use the orchestra to wake me up. It is great innovation.
  •
This is really clever! I like the idea of a world-wide, communal music experience. I may actually get this app!
  •
Thank you so much for sharing this information! Now, I can start my days with great music from all over the world!
  •
It can be very useful app and the app creator is so clever. I'm downloading it right now! thank you for useful info

One of my friends goes to this every year and I look forward to seeing the pictures afterwards. It's definitely a very unique cultural and artistic experience. She said that because a lot of the same people go every year, the event has developed its own little community.
  •
My chemistry teacher in high school goes to burning man every single year. One class period he dedicated the entire hour and a half class on telling us about burning man and showing us his pictures.
  •
I would love to one day experience Burning Man! I have heard nothing but great things about other people's experiences about the music, art, and community it brings together.

Painting elephants at the Oregon Zoo - 0 views

  •
Okay I am unsure if this qualifies as an art world or anything note worthy. I however thought it was fun and interesting. So I have always heard that animals could "create" art in various ways but i had never seen it. Through looking for another thing to post i stumbled upon this and thought id share! The link provided is to watch the oregon zoos elephants paint pictures that are largely better than what I could do. http://youtu.be/4KW5y7SmQq4
  •
That is a really fun video, I think these paintings could reflect different characteristic of the elephant, and their emotion while they painting, it is really amazing.

Explore The Pearl | The Official Site of Portland's Pearl District - 0 views

  •
"Once known as the Industrial Triangle-filled with railroad yards and timeworn turn-of-the-century warehouses-the Pearl District today is an award-winning, internationally recognized leader in urban renewal, culture and "LEED" certified buildings. As one of the most desired neighborhoods in the country to call your home, work space, or playground, the Pearl is clear validation that high-quality, inner-city communities can revive from the ashes of urban decay. Often considered the "gold standard" of live, work and play mixed-use space, the Pearl District is proof that inner-city living at its finest can rise from the ashes of urban decay."
