The UO's Arts and Administration is presenting the third annual (sub)Urban Projections presentation of digital arts, electronic music, modern dance, and installation art this Thursday, Jan. 30 at 8 p.m. at the Hult Center lobby in downtown Eugene. Experience art and performance that reimagines the main lobby, staircases, hallways, walls, ceilings, and spaces-in-between with presentations of thirteen works by artists and performers. The two-hour event will lead the audience through space and change the way that they think of the lobby spaces.

I'm particularly interested in this because I'm going to be starting a small record label with some friends this summer, and while we can predict the profitability of a certain distribution medium from a consumer's point of view, having the data laid out like this is very helpful.

I was always curious about it. The article was written in 2010 so I think musicians must earn more than in 2010.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art's director Thomas P. Campbell announced Friday that over 400,000 high-resolution, digital images will now be available to download through the museum's website for free. The public domain works, all part of the museum's collection, will increase over time and be added to the site on a regular basis.

"This Rural Arts and Culture Map presents new perspectives from rural America, with a focus on rural youth, rural-urban exchange, and a sustaining interest in the changing face of rural America, including the next generation, and their membership in diverse ethnic and cultural communities. Most importantly, this community is driven not by any single organization, but by the people themselves. With opportunities to share video, audio, photography, and text, we give full agency to an audience ready to become active participants in a mission to create new rural narratives. We hope this map will become a manifestation of direct, local experience; a digital tool that transcends itself; a meeting point for conversation and shared ground; and a foundation through which to unite and motivate rural citizens across the country."

I just downloaded it am going to play with it. Looks like a lot of fun and a offers the possibility of collaboration between people with different art interests. Thanks for sharing!

The site is billed as a "studio space where you can collage the internet." It's a relatively easy tool for combining your favorite Web objects - images, GIFs, video, audio - into one gloriously insane digital mashup.

One of the many museums within the SD Balboa Park area, this venue used photography to capture some of the most powerful pictures.

What gorgeous imagery! It was hard to believe that these images aren't digital, but from film. The colors and textures are stunning. As a mixed-media photographic artist, I found Fayman's work particularly fascinating. Thank you for posting.

Where Digital Meets Nature - Friday June 27 & Saturday June 28 - The Gorge Amphitheatre Paradiso is a really popular music festival to the Pacific Northwest. It is located at the Gorge every year and people from all over the region travel to enjoy 3 weekend camping experience with renown dj's and multiple stages playing live music and overall lively atmosphere.

Paradiso is a really fun event!! My cousin has attened multiple years and was the one who told me to attend. The atmosphere is something very fun and unique from other 3 day fesivals, which I enjoyed.

Computer-generated imagery, also called CGI, refer to the application of computer graphics to create images in art, printed media, video games, films and television programs. Many movies using this technology to create special effects.

Gina Ayers Signore is a professional artist and photographer who creates images using a variety of mediums, including acrylic collage painting, sculpture and digital photography. Gina combines her artistic sensibilities with her affinity and passion for nature to produce unique perspectives in both her fine art and photography.
