From adrenaline-pumping roller coasters to life-like interactive rides, Americans love big amusement parks. But if yet another turn on the Scrambler or ride on the swinging pirate ship is leaving you yawning, we've got some more interesting theme parks around the world that give "theme" park an entirely new meaning.

Like this a lot. Definitely added these to the bucket list.

As a kid I have always enjoyed an escape to a theme park, and these theme parks are so different yet uniquely engaging in their own way. Shame there weren't more like them where I grew up.

One of the many museums within the SD Balboa Park area, this venue used photography to capture some of the most powerful pictures.

What gorgeous imagery! It was hard to believe that these images aren't digital, but from film. The colors and textures are stunning. As a mixed-media photographic artist, I found Fayman's work particularly fascinating. Thank you for posting.

Dream of mine to attend a concert here. Have a lot of friends who have and say its the best concert venue in the United States. Beautiful scenery and great music, can't go wrong.

The museum is 10,000 square feet including the planetarium, classroom, computer laboratory, exhibit hall and meeting space. Situated in Alton Baker Park on over 4.35 acres of property, the Science Factory affords a wonderful opportunity for combining outdoor environs to its overall visit experience.

I always liked to visit science museums and exhibitions since I was a kid because there are always a lot of fun science exhibitions combined with arts. I didn't know there was such museum near UofO and I think science museum for children is a great place for families to visit on weekends. Seemed like they have some classes and camps occasionally, and I would wanted to participate in one of those events if I were still a kid. I hope many children will have a chance to visit such science museum and have many impacts on science/art and learn a lot of stuff there.

This is my absolute favorite place to spend time during the summer months! The Cuthbert has never disappointed me in terms of quality live music. The concerts are always reasonably priced and are decently regulated for the most part so families can attend. The atmosphere is unlike any other venue in Oregon and I highly recommend making a concert part of your summer agenda if you are living in Eugene this summer. The Market is open every Saturday, rain or shine, from the first Saturday in April through mid-November on the Park Blocks at 8th & Oak in downtown Eugene. The hours are 10 AM to 5 PM. On the weekend before Thanksgiving the Market opens its Holiday Market which runs weekends through Christmas Eve at the Lane County Fairgrounds.

Pier-2 means the second transport pier. Located within the third ship trench in Kaohsiung harbor and built in 1973, it was originally a general purpose harbor warehouse. In 2000, this space full of experimental possibilities was discovered when authority was looking for a space to set up firecrackers for the Independence Day celebration.

Even though the website do not have complete translation but there are brief idea about this place. It is an abandon warehouse that is turn into a showcase center. I have been to this place many times and every time they have a different exhibition going on. And the shop and park around has been decorated into a really inspiriting place for arts.

One of my favorite attractions of my home town, this saturday market really captures the aspect of this sector that we discussed in class regarding 'branding'; it advertises the fresh local produce along with selections of wine from local vendors.

San Francisco's city covered in public art allows visitors to gain a better understanding of the culture and history of the city itself; since the establishment of the Art Enrichment Ordinance the city has funded artists to portray their work throughout the various buildings of the city.

I grew up in San Francisco and I have always appreciated the art around the city. The most memorable are the different heart sculptures that have been placed around downtown.

Founded in 1846, the Smithsonian is the world's largest museum and research complex, consisting of 19 museums and galleries, the National Zoological Park, and nine research facilities.

I visited the Smithsonian museums when I was in 8th grade and still have very distinct memories from the trip! Loved all the history you are surrounded by. Great place to visit within your lifetime.

When I was younger I visited the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. I believe it was then that sparked my interest in aerial vehicles that I have had and continued to have today. I have the arts and cultural world to thank for that.

Redskins Nation is a half-hour show devoted to giving fans unfiltered access to the day's events at Redskins Park. Hosted by Larry Michael, the show features Redskins players, coaches and sit-down interviews with team officials. (Show re-airs at 11:30 p.m/7:30 a.m. daily)

The 12th annual Sasquatch Brew Fest will move back outdoors on Saturday, June 7, 2014 to the 'Fermentation District' in the Ninkasi Brewery distribution parking lot located at 155 Blair Boulevard in Eugene. The craft-beer festival will feature live music by The Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Tatiamo, the Hank Shreve Band, and the Douglas County Daughters.

This is the 12th annual brew fest in Sasquatch. It will be the first one in a couple years to be held outside again which is great for all the nature dwellers. It will be featuring live music good food, and other goodies.

Vancouver will be hosting a recycled arts festival from June 28-29. There will be over 120 artists with stage perfumers, jugglers, and clowns. Nothing like mixing some good music with some good art. This is promoting the practice of recycling as well which I think is really important to show to people, and how recycled works can be just as good as those who use new materials only. It would be cool to see how one's trash develops into an artists treasure.

When we think about the world's great cities, the features that we remember are their beautiful parks, buildings and art. It's unlikely we think about their balanced budgets or their ability to attract jobs. In fact, one reason that the world's great cities enjoy vibrant economies is because people are drawn to beautiful places.
