Most importantly, you need to use music that is not licensed under a No Derivative Works license. This means that the musician doesn’t want you to change, transform, or make a derivative work using their music. Under CC licenses, synching the music to images amounts to transforming the music, so you can’t legally use a song under a CC No Derivative Works license in your video.

Langwitches » Take the Technology out of the Equation - 0 views
-
Maybe we need to find common ground among the teachers and administrators at our schools. Take the word “technology” out of the discussion. That word seems to mean too many different things to too many different people (even scare). Maybe we need to be talking about something no one can deny as a priority in our schools: STUDENT LEARNING. Maybe we if we talk on that common ground, there will be less resistance, more collaboration and communication on how to achieve that.

In contrast to all this is the general sentiment among many teachers that "we need more PD!", or the always-amusing "How can they expect us to learn new things if all we get is a few PD days a year?"
-
That model is no longer sustainable and the days of PD as something that is done "to you" by "experts" a couple of times a year are over.

Learning needs to be ongoing. The world is changing. There are new tools that can help students learn, new ideas about learning, new brain research, new emerging technologies, new social structures, and so on

On Ed Tech, We're Asking the Wrong Question | The Committed Sardine - 7 views

In the end, that’s all technology is, too—a resource. In the hands of talented and well-trained teachers, it can facilitate high-quality teaching and learning; when used by average teachers, it most likely will lead to average results. And in either case, it’s not entirely clear whether test scores would rise, anyway—for reasons I’ll discuss later.
-
There is plenty of anecdotal evidence to suggest that, when used wisely, technology is a powerful resource that can help boost achievement.
-
I would argue that’s the point: You can’t separate the technology from the rest of the learning process, because they are inextricably bound.

'Terrific Tessellations' - lesson idea | iPad Art Room - 0 views
-
"A tessellation is created when a shape is repeated over and over again. The collection of figures on the plane have no gaps and no overlaps. Patterns created this way have an incredible mathematical rhythm. Not only are tessellations fun to create, they can teach students about the function, and relationship between, the elements of art (line, shape, colour, etc). They can also be used to make strong links to other subjects, particularly maths (incremental increases, angles, space, golden ratio, etc)."
12 Helpful Tools for Research and Citations | graphite Blog - 0 views
-
"There's no doubt the Internet opens up an enormous, ever-expanding world of resources when it comes to gathering information. But if well-founded, quality research is what you're after, the Internet is hit or miss. Don't get us wrong -- a good ol' Internet search is great to use as a guide when you're starting to research a topic. When you're writing a research paper, however, the paper will only be as strong as the sources cited. Since Web searches tend to pull up many results that have the potential to be far from credible, students need to break the "just google it" habit. To steer them in the right direction, we've narrowed it down to 12 of the best tools for quality research and proper citations."
