"Foldify is an iPad app that students can use to design all kinds of 3D figures on their iPads. After designing their figures students can print their designs with directions for folding their designs into 3D paper objects. Foldify provides basic templates for objects like cars, houses, and people. Students complete the templates by coloring them in, adding their own pictures to the templates, and adding fun digital stamps to the templates."

"Okay, this may be the easiest way yet to tell a professional looking story on your iPad. I can see this app used with kiddos of nearly any age. I can see it becoming a classroom staple. (Especially when it moves to multiple platforms.)"

"It's a way to make equations meaningful, which is, of course, what they are in the programs when you write them," said Fruchter, a computer science teacher at NYC Nest+m, a public K-12 school in New York City for gifted and talented students. "They are much more than a sheet of homework exercises because they make the program go." Using literature in this way has allowed Fruchter to make his computer science math classes entirely project-based, which in turn draws the interest of kids who might not have otherwise liked computer programming.
