"After a year or two of tinkering and experimenting with apps for teaching / learing Geography, I have (finally) compiled this list of what I deem to be the most useful iPad apps for teaching Geography. I have not rated any of them, or offered any kind of review. I have merely inserted a screenshot or two and a link to the App Store. The discerning down-loader is urged to consult the ratings and reviews for each of these before buying and downloading them. I like them, and I am sure that you and your students will too."

This is a collection embedding hundreds of free audio books covering a wide variety of themes and topics meticulously curated by the folks in LibriVox. the collection is huge and you may want to use the integrated search functionality to search for specific titles. You can narrow down your search using criteria such as views, title, date reviewed/published/ archived, and creator. Once you find your audiobook, click on its cover page and you will be directed to a page where you can listen, download and access more details about it including publication date, usage licenses, and reviews."

"Back in primary school I remember learning about the internals of the human body by constructing a digestive system out of toilet rolls. Needless to say, that summer I probably used more toilet tissue than I needed too in an effort to get enough toilet rolls together. The results were awesome though. I plonked a marble through the cardboard oesophagus and proudly demonstrated to my parents the wonders of the human digestive system. I'm assuming my model had the equivalent of the runs as my marble got through in about 5 seconds. Now, the days of such eco-unfriendly learning are behind us and Zybright have released a great app called My Incredible Body, which I would say is aimed at ages 4-13."

All schools are probably teaching many of the information literacy skills found in this body of lessons. Usually, individual teachers will tackle the process of plugging the gaps in their curriculum when an issue or opportunity arises. A sixth grade teacher may see the need to review note taking, while a high school teacher needs to re-introduce Boolean operators and review Citing Sources.
