The battle of the Scott brothers. The struggling Cats are looking to get their season back on track whilst North want to bounce back after an agonisingly close loss to Port Adelaide.

The Cats are without Jimmy Bartel (knee) and Tom Lonergan (concussion) from last weekend whilst Matthew Stokes needs to overcome a fitness test on his ankle in order to play. Young defender Jake Kolodjashnij is likely to make his debut with Tom Hawkins, Jared Rivers, George Horlin-Smith and Billie Smedts all named in the extended squad. For the Roos, Jamie Macmillan, Trent Dumont and Brad McKenzie all come into the squad with veteran midfielders Daniel Wells and Nick Dal Santo missing and Jack Ziebell overcoming a fitness test in order to play.

Geelong won their first game for season 2015 with a gritty display against Gold Coast last Sunday - before that they had lost to Hawthorn and Fremantle. They rank 17th in kicks per game and 15th in points scored to sit 15th on the ladder. The Roos have beaten Brisbane in between losses to Adelaide and Port Adelaide. Their attacking game plan sees them ranked third in handballs and fourth in points scored per game.

Tom Hawkins v Scott Thompson - the big Cat returns to the side after missing round 3 after his mother passed away. He has kicked 12.7 in his last three against North and with Geelong struggling to score in 2015, he will be heavily relied upon to kick a winning score.

Geelong and North Melbourne have faced each-other 156 times with Geelong leading 95-61 with one draw. Geelong has won three of their last six games and 10 of their last 13 against North. The Cats have won 47 of their past 51 games at Simonds Stadium. Geelong is 20-2 (11-11 against the line) at Simonds Stadium since the start of 2012. The Roos have lost eight of their past nine games in Geelong. Chris Scott holds a 4-3 (3-4 against the line) advantage over brother Brad in the coaches box - in their seven matches as head-coaches since 2011. These two have played tight games recently with their last five games separated by an average of just 15-points. The last seven Geelong-North games have totalled over 182-points - albeit four of those games have been at Etihad. North Melbourne is 7-1 both head to head and against the line following a loss in 2014-15.

The Roos will have to overcome the weight of history to get the chocolates but are well placed to do so. They should be full of confidence facing the Cats after beating them in September last year, have superior form, a deeper midfield and their tall forwards look well placed to perform well against Geelong. It's not panic stations, but if they are to make the top four, they simply should be winning this one.
