One of the best wikis on the digiteen project, this wiki covering digital law is marvelous and was put together by 9 students from my classroom here in the US, Qatar, and Austria. This is an excellent wiki on Digital Law and has made my wiki hall of fame for this year! Wow!

A quarter million teachers to get free wikis - 0 views

  •
A San Francisco wiki services provider has just finished a multiyear project under which it gave teachers all over the world 100,000 free wikis. And now, it is doubling up and getting set to give away another quarter million. The company, Wikispaces, decided in 2006 that it would make helping teachers use the collaborative software to further cooperation between students, both in their own schools and with schools in other cities and countries, a cornerstone of its business. But while Wikispaces hasn't made any money directly from the project--and in fact has incurred significant costs due to supporting the teachers' use of the wikis--co-founder Adam Frey said the company has found that the educators are just the kind of evangelists that can aid a start-up in building a business.

Teaching students how to use online surveys and aggregate results is an important skill as part of authentic research. This wiki page has excellent information on how to use these tools.

Incredible wiki page about online surveys and forms. I highly recommend that we begin to have our students conduct surveys as part of authentic research. This is an excellent page about this topic. (The rest of the wiki is nice as well.)

Frontier School Division Wiki - 0 views

  •
This is a wiki being built for a digital literacy program for teachers within a school division. This approach is a great one for districts and is a way to reach everyone with current information. I also wish they had a blog to compliment it, but sharing these sorts of websites are great.\n\nIt would be nice if we had a template of information that people could copy to get started.

WebTools4u2use [Library Media Specialists Wiki] - 1 views

  •
This wiki was created for school library media specialists by Dr. Donna Baumbach and Dr. Judy Lee, University of Central Florida. The purpose is to provide information about some of the new web-based tools (Web 2.0) and how they can be used and are being used by school library media specialists and their students and teachers. Much of the information--including identifying a need for this kind of information--is the result of a survey conducted in 2008 of over 600 school library media specialists about their knowledge and use of web-based tools in library media programs.

Phenomenal page about integrating ICT into the classroom witha wide variety of rubrics based upon Bloom's taxonomy. You'll see blog journaling, wiki editing, threaded discussion, bookmarking rubrics, search rubrics, podcasting rubrics, audio conferencing, data analysis, and collaborative rubrics. I haven't been through all of these but would love it if we could go through them and work on them. They are in PDF format, but it would be great to share and edit them collaboratively. Very nice website.
  •
Important example of how leading edge schools assess podcasting, searching, digital publishing, collaboration, threaded discussions, blog, wikis, and more. Excellent resource for parents or teachers to take to school administrators to advocate for these sorts of programs in their school. I highly recommend this site.
