Portfolios are a great tool to use in the classroom, especially in a more digital environment where everything is already on the computer. I think that this resource could definitely be something that could help teachers who are unsure of how to use portfolios in their classroom.

I particularly appreciate the broad overview of this site. By including European example, it gives a wider range of perspective. Thanks for sharing

Whether you are creating a PBL activity or an IPA, this checklist is a good way of pre-evaluating your efforts.  I also explored other areas of this blog and found some interesting resources that can be used in the WL classroom.

This is one of my favorite sites to find out what's new in tech for our use.  The April 11th blog post discusses typing accents in other languages.  It also presents 2 virtual keyboards for WL students. Also presented are links to learning languages, activities, and image-based language lessons.

Paper.li provides a forum for students to find TL newspaper articles and publish an online class newspaper. This could be used with upper-level students to expose them to news and authentic language materials, and allow them to create based on their interests.

A plethora of training videos on all sorts of web-based technology

This is a great resource for EFL teachers.  The site has the recent news articles delivered in three different levels based on learner ability. The site can be used for additional practice for EFL students or as homework.

This helpful summary of a recent #langchat Twitter discussion resonates with me personally, since I have taught primarily according to textbooks in the past. The concerns and responses described in the blog are very helpful for me, in changing up the paradigm I've grown used to.

Food Lunchbox Project is a collaborative page used by schools and teachers to exchange photos of and comments about typical school lunches. Useful for units on food, health, culture.

Duolingo is a free language-learning website and crowd-sourced text translation platform. The service is designed so that, as users progress through the lessons, they simultaneously help to translate websites and other documents. It is a way that teachers can provide an additional language learning source to their students, and once each lesson is completed, students read authentic sources and complete activities on the Internet from authentic web-based sources.

This is a collaborative workspace for the development of instructional items for the use of MMORPGs, like World of Warcraft, GuildWars2 and others, in a school setting.  Examples of how to incorporate World of WarCraft in school.  Great resources which can be transferred into the WL classroom

Organize talkgroups for your students on a voice-based message board. Students can practice oral skills in asynchronous communication. Conversations can be private.

What I like about it is the instant progress report! I use the gradebook of BlackBoard and I don't think that they have this feature.
