This webpage demonstrates balance in order to create a visually pleasing aesthetic for the reader. The information that talks about the article is centered aligned. If one were to remove the ads and links to other articles it would send this page out of balance. However, the links and ads add a symmetric balance to the page, which gives a more educational and formal feel to the article.

Gorgeous Typography Examples in Advertising Design - Noupe - 0 views

In this ad, the concept is very simple yet the message behind it is truly deep. This I believe is due to the contrast of the white and red as well as the emphasis of the color white.  The flow of this ad really comes through in the type of font that it was created in. The script makes it flow with the reader as they read the word efficiency

I like to point out that multimedia writing can take place on any format including skin. In this picture you can see the importance of some letters, such as the ones in bold of larger letters, as well as the balance in the text.

Here the trait of simplicity is being used, as well contrast of the ink that the words are being used in making the message look more of a part of the body than a tattoo.

I feel like this course is a great way to get a leg up on the competition. Mr Leoff states that most smaller organizations have well little familiarity with graphics. I feel as though in just this first chapter I have learned quite a bit about maybe the basics of graphics but over the course I will have adequate knowledge about the subject. This book offers some good information on how balance is used and the importance of a balanced design. An imbalanced design can be hard for a reader to understand and creates negative feelings in the audience.

Principles and Elements of Art: Balance - 0 views

I liked this article the best because it was short, simple, and straight to the point. It covers all the main points of balance and symmetry. It describes symmetrical balance, radial symmetry, exact, axial, and asymmetrical balance. Two new terms this article presented were approximate symmetry and occult. Approximate symmetry is an overall balance of color, objects, font size, ect. Occult is when the background is the dominant feature of the design. The article gives 3 art radial designs and an art picture of exact symmetry

In this site, Microsoft uses font plus size contrast to distinguish between information order, as well as with the video being that it uses a sort of detail contrast to draw you to it when compared to the simplicity of the rest of the site.

This website displays very clear contrast in font types between the "We Love The Web" and the other fonts for the clickable objects. Size and color contrast are also used being that the whole site is the same color except for the important links that the designer wants you to focus on.

This was my favorite webpage regarding contrast. It itself used an appropriate level of contrast. It laid out the different uses of contrast, ways that contrast can be achieved, listed out things to think about when adding contrast, and even provided examples.

The general construction of this page does a marvelous job of using contrast to liven up their page, as opposed to a more traditional news page which usually doesn't offer too much in way of color of format variation.

A Tale of Two Advertisements « Virtual Scrapbook of The Highland Park Neighbo... - 0 views

This page is similar to the textbook, which makes it a perfect example of how contrast works. It takes two examples of advertisements and allows readers to compare the two, to determine which leaves a lasting effect on the reader. Both advertisements are from the same people or corporation. It is apparent the first advertisement uses contrast more effectively and personally leaves a better lasting impression on me.
