Help on driver setup please (basic 101?) - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • I finally got back to this one. Here's what I did, you can adapt it to your requirements. BTW this is in TRS2004 but all later versions should be identical or very similar. Layout: One baseboard, one straight track. In order: Where the loco starts Trigger TR1 Trackmark TM1 Trackmark TM2 Trackmark TM3 (It helps to put a building alongside each trigger/trackmark so you know where they are when driving) Place a loco at the starting position The objective is to make the loco drive to TM1, then drive back and forth between TM2 and TM3 forever. Rules (where each > represents one level of indent): Startup options - as normal Driver Setup - Drive to TM1 Driver Command - as normal Trigger Rule - Trigger TR1 > Ordered List - This process will be repeated 1 time > > Driver Setup - Drive to TM2, Drive to TM3, Repeat I hope you can copy this and get it going, and that it's of some help to you. I find one of the trickiest things is to keep the difference between Rules and Driver Commands clear in my head. John

random portal train selection - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Well yes. Central Portal Control lets the portal select a consist at random from a list that you provide when setting up the portal instructions. It will also emit in sequence if you so desire. I've found that the tricky part is setting up the path for the AI train to follow - it also becomes incredibly tedious if a large number of track marks are used to describe the patch.

Copying and pasting the PATH of AI trainz? - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Search for "copy" on the DLS and you find the Copy Commands From (KUID2:192081:1:6). Search for "schedule" and you will find the Schedule Library (KUID2:192081:12:4) along with a few others that may interest you. Make sure that TRS2004 is ticked under the Trainz Versions. Hope that is what you were looking for.
  • For those interested, I downloaded "Copy Commands From" and "Schedule Library" from the Download Station into TRS2009. In Surveyor, open "Edit Sessions Rules" (top left of screen, looks like #), select "Driver Command" from the menu, then Edit. Place a tick against "Copy Commands From". Close this menu. Now click "Add", and add "Schedule Library". Select this and set up the path as as for a normal portal. Give it a name, eg Path1 I'm using Central Portal Control (because it will emit a consist immediately). Open Central Portal Control. Add a consist and driver. Now for the path select Copy Command/Insert/from Library/Path1. Repeat for other consists from this portal. Easy !~! The same procedure can be used for a portal (Surveyor, "?", click on portal) if Central Portal Control is not used. Thanks again. Phil

How to set up drive schedule - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Hi DonVrx, Simple realy when you think about it, a drive command is one off. A drive schedule is a series of drive commands strung together one after the other. When the AI driver completes one command he will look for the next command, if there is no more commands he will stop. If you have a continuous track i.e. a loop you can place a repeat after the last command, this will cause a completed command to be added at the end of the list and used again after all the others have been completed. Cheers, Bill69
  • I have used the Schedule Library and the Copy Schedule command to build a schedule for my AI drivers. The Schedule Library lets you setup a schedule of commands all at once and then share the set of command with more than one driver using the Copy Schedule command. This is easier than setting up each command again for multiple drivers. The schedule command its self is more work. I've used that for passenger trains once, but it was hard to calculate how long a train would take to get between stations because the AI are so unpredictable. John
  • Having a schedule is great for passenger service. Trains leave and arrive at particular times day and night on a consistent basis in real life. By doing this in Trainz, we can make the running more realistic, and have to work the freights in between the scheduled passenger trains as the freights can't get in the way of the highballers. John

Trains stopping at stations - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • if you use the copy command from (library) it's one command per lap if you will. you have to set this up in surveyor under edit session. download schedule library command, then add this to your list of driver commands for the session(copy commands from). add schedule library to the main list then edit this with a list of commands as per your question. very handy if you've got 5-6 different sets of commands that you use often. _______________

how do i print out drivers orders? - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Unfortunately there is no way to print a list of drivers orders. The best way for a session you want to re-use is to use the driver schedule library. Put your driver's orders in the library, give it a name you will recognise and save. Then in surveyor call up the saved schedule for a driver, allocate him to a train, then when you go into driver he will carry out the given schedule.

Creating & Saving a Scedule in Driver - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Top left of screen, in dropdown surveyor menu select edit session, then in new window select driver commands, in next new window click on add then scroll down till you find schedule library select it and click on the green tick. You will also need the (copy commands from) command found the same way. Don't forget to name and save your schedule so you can recognise it next time you want to use it
  • Append attaches commands after commands that are already in the driver's command line, insert places a whole string of new commands.
  • I don't have TS2009 yet but since no one else has tried to help yet i'll give it a go. Once you have loaded the map you want you will have to place at least one loco before you can start a schedule. Placing the loco should aut
  • ...1 more annotation...
  • May I add a little note re the "append" and "insert" selection. I have used this method a few times and found some interesting results when applied to different types of Schedules.

Yard Problem - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Have you tried this template? http://members.westnet.com.au/nightc...template01.jpg Do a search on the DLS for CS_Yard and you will find it, CS_Yard Template_1 (KUID: 37522:9972). Lay your track along the template, then use the "straighten track" tool on the section in yellow sections like so, you will end up with this... http://members.westnet.com.au/nightc...template02.jpg I use this one all the time to create yards.

Determining Industry Input/Output - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • I figured this one out. I could see the functions, but I just couldn't see how they were to be used - There always seemed to be some information missing. The function use is Industry.GetProcessIOProduct(string processname, bool wantinput, int ioindex) I couldn 't figure out where to get ioindex from. But the code below works in all my tests so far

Making the impossible possible. Multiple Multiple Industries. - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Not done it for quite a while but it is fairly easy Best thing is to goto trainzproroutes forum, check lars forum for the protolars manual. It's all to do with the properties i.e ? click on industry then in produce? make it EXTERNAL and link to industry you want to. Manual explains it better than I can . Paul
  • such industries exist for one year ago in Vol4 LaFrance en Trains: there are multiple tracks multi industries with 3 releases : 2, 3 or 4 tracks. On each track you can define "out" or "in" products and between theses queues how and under which rate some products are made... You can also define a "transitionnal" product made by the industry and linked with a first product supplied on one track and this product can be defined as an enter in another queue combined with another product supplied to made a final one ready to load.... Such industries are supllied as "basic"(only tracks are supplied) or as "neutral" with some buildings around each tracks. These industries are compatible with any products even if some of FET are not used...you can make yours...and use them with this system... Name of tracks are editable for scheduling...Ten queues available, Five different process ...on each industry. Here some beer made with water, alcool and hops...
  • On the DLS: "Industry Link" (kuid: 122381:10007) by MiZi. Regards Swordfish PS: There are a lot of other intersting rules made by MiZi on the DLS

Industry Training Session? - Page 2 - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • I've put together a little demo - mouse click on this link and download the file: http://rapidshare.com/files/211284902/KRL_demo.cdp The cdp file contains the test route, a test session and all the dependencies for the freight car. Just drag and drop the cdp file into the main pane of CM2.
  • I downloaded/commited Philskene's KRL 7 pieces for this asset. All show a yellow puzzle piece with ?. View errors & warnings all show the .pm mesh nolonger unsupported statement and #4 also has a missing black.texture statement in its load_mesh folder. The View Dependencies shows missing bogies :128 and :129. I wonder why CM2 didn't automatically download them since they are dependencies. I download/committed the 2 bogies, :128 shows error can't load shadow/shadow.pm. Looked at the :128 bogey file contents but there's no shadow folder or mesh. The easiest correction for this type of error is to add a mesh-table container to the config.txt file to reference the .pm mesh that is there. Also made a small (32x32) black square .jpg and a black.texture.txt file for the load_mesh folder. Saved and committed. Now, all 7 kuids only show the yellow ! because of the .pm meshes but tried them out and all can be place on a track in Surveyor.

Industry Training Session? - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • I suggest the first thing you do is to search on the Download Station for "Products". When you do this you will find heaps of different things that can be carried. At the same time you will find a lot of "Industry Tracks" available as well.
  • Another suggestion I would make is that when you are building a route, add a spare baseboard to it. On this place some tracks that you can put your choices on and you can also place buildings etc so that you can just go there and click on the item with the get selection in the flyout and you have your modified unit to place at other spots. I found the best way is to just try things out, if it works ok then keep a noteboke and jot it down for future reference.
  • For example using a built-in industry, the coal mine. I create a consist of different hoppers that can carry coal on a empty track. Then using the Get Consist button in Consist mode, I save the consist as Auran Coal Mine - Coal. This gives me a ready made consist to place on any route

Two Questions. 1.Sound... 2.LARS - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Your cattle question...the reason you can't send your AI driver to the packing plants is the way the layout is setup for the Class 1 trains that are running. If you look at the layout in Surveyor you will see that there are direction arrows so they keep to their tracks. What I did was save the layout under a different name and do away with the Class 1(remove the portals) and use the tracks for normal dual track setup. Remove the direction arrows and sort out the signals and you have a great railroad freight system that can run from one end of the layout to the other with a number of consists at the same time. I still keep an original version of the layout because I enjoy doing the great sessions that Phil has created. There is a flour hopper on the DLS, VR VPFX kuid 2:1854:1596:1 O So Lite. There is also a plain one, kuid 2:1854:1595:1. Another hopper you might find handy is the VR JX kuid 50567:108979
  • I'll try to work more with that Beth gondola 86311:999116 and looking at the config.txt, although I think I'm not informed enough to understand that stuff yet, BUT maybe I could understand it!
