Adventures in CMP - 0 views

CMP CHECKLIST-Some things to try. 1. Run ..\Auran\TRS2006\bin\TrainsDiag.exe and verify EVERYTHING passes. CMP will not run if OpenGL doesn't pass. 2. Verify that your firewall allows the following: ..\Auran\TRS2006\bin\ContentManager.exe ..\Auran\TRS2006\bin\Launcher.exe ..\Auran\TRS2006\bin\Trainz.exe 3. Start CMP and click Files/Settings/Internet and verify your username and password are correct and in Files/Settings/Miscellaneous verify your User ID is correct. 4. The Assets.tdx file is in the ..\Auran\TRS2006 folder. Assets.bku, a backup copy of Assets.tdx, if present will be in the .\Auran\TRS2006\cache folder. Assets.bku is not required but Assets.tdx is required for proper operation of CMP. 5. If Launcher will not start Trainz kill the ..\Auran\TRS2006\Video\LogoIntro.avi movie by editing the ..\Auran\TRS2006\trainzoptions.txt file to add the line: -intro=disable Bob

Anyway around this issue??? - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Yes What I do and it actually works!! is open up the 2006 CMP manually it then downloads from the DLS to that version. I found that to download to CMP2 in 2009 again you also had to open the CMP2 manually first. PS you can close it and it will still default to the one you had open last including TC3 if you open it. Hope this helps Ron
  • See my thread " A tip from me. Transfering content ;-)" or whatever its called. Basically, the same thing applies here. Just make sure you know the name of the things you download, so you can find them. __________________ http://www.urbantrainzrailroad.webs.com/

Built-in Assets Removal - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  •
Hi, Thanks for reply. I,ve managed to do what I wanted after reading another thread. This was the procedure I did. Opened up CMP - disabled the built-in asset I wanted to get rid of - then opened that asset for editing. Opened up Windows Explorer - found the open asset in the 2006 editing file - cut and pasted the asset folder to My Documents and then deleted the folder. (It does not work if you try and delete the folder directly from the editing file) Re-0pened CMP and then started up trainz from CMP. Loaded up the route - every instance of that asset will have disappeared - then click "Delete Missing Assets" and save. Tidy up CMP by using the "revert" option on the asset. Is there an easier way of doing this??? Regards, John (My apologies to the member who give me this idea. I cannot 'refind' the thread to give you acknowledgement.)

Tutorial on moving custom assets to 2009 - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Hi Bob The title of that post is A simple Tutorial--Gmax to Trains I got to thinking a little more about your question. The link above is to my tutorial is the process I used to get an asset just created from Gmax into TRS2009 or TRS2006. There are some parts of that tutorial that would definitely help you but even that tutorial would be more than what you need to do. I'm not sure TRS2004 as it (in my understanding) does not have a content manager in it.( I might be wrong I haven't done anything with TRS2004.) But with 2006 you Use your CMP to locate your assets. Right click on each one of them and click save as CDP from the drop down menue. You take the all the cdp's that you've created and put them all in a folder that you know what the location of it is. Close 2006 Cmp and open Cmp2 in TRS2009. Go to file/import/and location of your cdp files/ and press enter on your keyboard and CMP2 will go to that folder and automatically install each and every asset that you made into a CDP into TRS2009. The key to TRS 2004 content I think is to figure out how to get those assets in CDP format.

Removing invisible items - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • What I did (TS2009, but I think it will work for TS2006) is in CMP, create a back-up of the asset you want to remove. Then delete the asset from the database. This will only work for assets not built in, as you cannot delete built-in. Once the asset is deleted in CMP, go back into TS, and use the "Delete missing assets" function. I do not think that just disabling the asset in CMP will do anything. Disabling only makes the asset no longer available in the Surveyor menu, but does not remove it from the route.

loco motive? - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • I used TRS2006 CMP to clone ATSF C44-9W,<kuid2:113556:2915:1> then opened it for Edit in Explorer. Changed it to a piece of rolling stock by editing the config.txt file as follows: 1. Change the Category-Class to XB 2. Change the enginespec to kuid:-1:42004201 3. Change engine 1 to engine 0 4. Deleted the enginesound and enginehorn lines 5. Deleted the script and class lines 6. Edit the kuid-table to agree with the items deleted. Save and commit. Bo

Recommended routes? - Page 2 - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Not to sure why the routes you are downloading have so many "missing assets". I rarely have this problem. One solution might be to change your settings in CMP. In CMP go to FILE - SETTINGS - MICELLANEOUS and untick "Suppress Asset Warning in Trainz" Make sure "Automatically commit" is ticked also. Next time you try an run a route that you know has missing assets, make sure you are connected to the internet. Before the route loads you should get a screen that give you the opportunity to "find missing assets". Click on that and your system will open CMD and try and find the missing assets. If those missing assets are on the download station it should find them, and you should be able to download them. If they not on the download station/CMP you will then have to try and find them on third party sites. Which can be very frustrating.............. Cheers, Mac.
  • The small G&D is mine. I don't remember if I put a run around in Daphetid. I don't think so because the prototype didn't have one, and there's no turntable up there anyway. I assure you, if you put some track there for a runaround, you won't hurt my feelings. Enjoy yourself. If you download a layout and you don't like it, you can delete it in Content Manager. You should also get Trainz Object. It works great for TRS04. I'm not sure how I lived without it. Click on my link below and check out my toys. I also did the Minato Railway, which was the first Japanese prototype on the DLS. We didn't have nearly as much Japanese content back then, but I think it came out okay. I'm also still fond of the Furuya layout and Makatini Junction. (both fictional) Claude
  • c. a centerpiece of all but the Mad River route is the 16 portals and the opportunities they give for introducing plenty of challenge in operations against a steady movement of trains that have priority over yours.
  • ...2 more annotations...
  • I find the Niddertalbahn one of the best routes made for the simulator.
  • "Ffestiniog Railway." Narrow gauge, very enjoyable to operate.

How do you transfer a route from TRS2006 to TS2009? - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Have you commited the content? You may also pull up your route in CMP in 2006, then right mouse button click on the listing (or icon) and choose "save to CDP". Then open 2009 and choose "file"/ "Import CDP" and navigate to the CDP. Yous may still ahev to commit the content in 2009.

Naming Content in Local Folder - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  •
If you want to change something, Open for Edit in CMP. When you do this, it is moved to the Edit folder where the folder name is changed to the item's name so you can find it. I normally do this, CCP takes too long for me and I still can't understand it, this method hasn't crashed on me yet. __________________

Trainz/Removing Unwanted Assets - Wikibooks, collection of open-content textbooks - 0 views

  • The only problem is that you may delete a dependency that's used by another route. You won't find out until you look at all the routes you have installed and look for the missing dependency flag (or try to load the route). One way of reducing the impact is to archive the route and its dependencies (create a new archive for deleted routes). Carry on as before - deleting everything - if you need a deleted asset CMP will pull it from the archive. Once

Trigger Multiple Signals - How? - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • You only need one rule and can set up multiple signals on one trigger in a single set up. In a session set up all the rules etc place a single engine and save the session as map rules. everytime you want to do a new session with the same rules you just open map rules place your consists and save as a different name. This means you wont have to keep setting up the rules everytime. __________________
