  I think it's totally appropriate for schools to publish memorials, I think that in some way it's disrespectful to the families and friends to not post something in memory of the deceased. Even if illegal substances were involved, I think it's appropriate to post memorials, it can serve as some part of a lesson, an eye opener to other students that accidents can happen. If schools try to disregard death I think first of all it is extremely rude and disheartening to the family, and kids will not treat it as seriously. Whenever death occurs it is extremely sad, and it should be a prominent issue to stop these young deaths.

  I agree with Krissy and believe that a school newspaper should definitely publish memorials. It can spread the message if there will be a vigil or memorial if any students would like to pay their respects. These horrible accidents definitely affect a school community, with students not realizing how delicate life is and yell "YOLO" these situations remind you that you do only live once.

  I believe it's the school newspapers job to publish news, no matter good or bad its the duty of reporting news that gives the right to publish serious topics like this. As horrible as the incident was publishing an article on it can have many benefits to the situation such as making a big point to the community on safety. Also the community can pay respects to the victims and their families the right way and show compassion towards the horrific incident.

  I agree with everyone that the school has the right to publish memorials because its their job and raise awareness that something has happened so students can say what they want to say about the loss. This can effect a school community very much and can really effect the school life especially for the people who were close to the victims. I think if something like this happened at Tam there would be a lot of talk about it and that we should definitely share the memorials. To show that everyone cares and is sorry the losses.
