Ironically, I think adding less important information to the Google Glass would make them more effective. I think having breaking news and all that text and information would be extremely overwhelming, and that in this case, less is more. Weather apps, notifications, and directions would be the way to go. Facebook, CNN, and Elle once again seem overwhelming and reminiscent of "Feed" by M.T. Anderson.

I think that this could prove to be extremely distracting and even dangerous if a lot of people began to use it. Already, technology that is way less advanced then the Google Glass is hindering peoples awareness of their surroundings. Google Glass would expedite the process of making people close-minded and antisocial. Other activities such as driving or even walking on a sidewalk seem potentially hazardous with the Google Glass. I think that this piece of technology needs to be thought about much more before it is released into the general public.

I am completely opposed to Google Glass as a product. From a technology standpoint, it's incredible, but I really don't think it will add positively to anyone's lives as far as privacy or social interactions are concerned. We're getting closer and closer to the point where people have no privacy whatsoever, and are constantly being seen and recorded by everyone's Google Glass memory. Also, as Sam and Lauren pointed out, constantly having social networking in front of your eyes would not only destroy social ties, etc., but also put people in jeopardy during activities that require complete focus. I do not think Google Glass is, or ever will be, necessary to the development of the human race.

WOW!! This was incredible and scary. While reading the article i could not stop comparing our world to the Pixar film Walle, where everyone becomes dependent on their technological devices. I hope that we can use the Google glass technology to some how enhance our understanding of the natural world and not destroy it.

Google Glass is taking a big leap by attempting to release something this drastic in technology. I am surprised there has been no uprisings about how Google Glass will effect the public in the way that now there is now a constant reminder on their actual face to check notifications, news, what's up with their friends on Facebook. With the beginning idea of Google Glass you can only imagine where it will go. It is a little intimidating thinking about the effect it will have on drivers. With the release of these apps it will spark a whole new world of apps, that will cause for more time consumption and distraction on a little electronic device from the real world (like we don't already have problems like that now). With the ability to check text messages now, it completely defeats the purpose of any law towards the ceasing of cell-phone usage while driving. it can even be dangerous for people on the street. So far, I do not comply with the idea of Google Glass, and until they show a way in which it will impact the world positively, then I have no reason to support it.

I was about to make the same connection as Riley regarding the book "Feed". Not to far from now our society will reach a point where the internet is accessible at any moment. It really is scary how much we rely on technology, Although these google glass things are really cool, I don't think we need them. In my opinion they can hurt the human race more than they can help us.

When I first read this I thought "whoa this is so cool". Now thinking about it Google Glass is just very impractical, especially if facebook or news stories keep popping up in your face. Especially if it costs $1500 for something that takes pictures and videos! I mean when would people use this, its a scary thought imagining millions of people wearing these and walking down the street, recording everyone and everything.
