Last night I read Ella Enchanted. I don't know exactly where I am in the book but I am kind of towards the middle. Ella has just run away from finishing school and she has just met Slannan, the elf. She stays with the elves for a night and then go's on her way.

Last night I read Ella Enchanted. I'm in the middle of the story. She has just persuaded the ogres to sit still while Prince Charmont's Knights tied their hands and gagged them. Now she is on her way to Uaxyees farm.

Last night I finished Because of Mr. Terupt. The character I want to write about is Jeffrey. He hates school on the outside but on the inside he's just hiding his hurt from everyone. His role in the book is the outsider who is hurt who is always hiding his feelings.

Last night I read Ella Enchanted. The character I chose is Ella. She is really kind and nice. Her mother died and she has a curse on her. The curse makes her obedient. She has to be obedient when you say a comand. She is the main character. I really like her.

Last night I read Ella Enchanted. The character in the story I'm choosing is Prince Charmont. He is kind and admirable but he is not stuck up in the least. He is a man of courage. I think he is one of my favorite characters.
  • Asa C

Last night I read Ella Enchanted. The character I chose to discribe is Hattie. Hattie is uptight, selfish, thinks she's better then others and wears a wig. I don't really like her because she thinks so much of her self, but if she wasn't in the story there would be no excitement.

A reading stradagy I use is I try to pretend I'm inside the story and I'm encountering everything that happens to the characters. For example, in Ella Enchanted, the book I'm currently reading, Ella is in the forest meeting the elves. What I did was I imagined sleeping soundly in a leaf hammock with a canopy of leafs towering above while listening to the sweet sounds of music filling the air and rocking slowly back and forth.

Last night I read Ella Enchanted. A reading stradagy I use is to make connections. Right now Ella is riding a horse to Uaxyees farm for the wedding with Sir Stephen. He is nice and patient but he talks a lot. He talks about his wife and his children and mostly his "wonderful amazing hounds." Then I connected. "Hey, I have three wonderful amazing dogs." And then I could connect with that character so I could understand him more.

Some figurative language I found was on page 35, "Only when the sky lightened to grey and the sun began to peek over the horizon did Minli sit down and rest against a tall tree." I liked it because it reminds me of my cat peeking over the table while I'm eating breakfast.

Last night I read The Land of Stories, The Wishing Spell. I am about in the middle. To summarize my reading last night I read about Alex and Conner sleeping in "Froggy's" house. When they woke up they were off to... DUN DUN DUN... What happens? I'm not going to spill the beans...
  • Asa C

Last night I read the Series of Unfortunate Events, The Vile Village. I read the part about Hector, the handy man finding one of Isadora's poems and the Baldelaire's thought that he was working with Count Olaf. I think that Hector is innocent but I want to know more about the Council of Elders...

Last night I read The Hostile Hospital, by Lemony Snicket. I finished it. I read about the fire in the library of records and Klaus pushing his sister on a gurney through the hospital. Klaus and his sisters were about to be burned alive and get captured by Count Olaf but they made a quick escape from the supplies closet and Violet made a cord to drop out of the window out of rubber bands. They escaped but the air had so much smoke in it that they had to jump into Count Olaf's car and escape with out being seen...

Last night I read Because of Mr. Terupt. I'm almost done with the book. Danielle finally tells Anna that her family is against her mom. In class Mrs. Kelley tells everyone that James was leaving the collaborative classroom and going to a " Normal" school. They through a surprise party for James and he made Peter feel better and everyone as well.

One of my pieces of figurative language I found was, "His black eyes sparkled like raindrops in the sun when he began a story." This is a simile. One reson I chose this one was because it really paints a picture in my mind. The other piece I found was, "His gentle call drew Minli like a moth to a lit lantern." That is also a simile. I chose it because when I read this I actually picture a moth fluttering near a lit lantern.

Last night I read The Vile Village by Lemony Snicket. Some interesting vocabulary that he used was fluttered instead of flew. Gaped instead of stared. One of my favorite ones he used was joyous instead of happy. FIN.

Last night I read The Carnivorous Carnival. Some interesting word choice I found was concluded. It is interesting because instead of saying "We have found out that..." You can say, "We have concluded..."

Some good word choice I found in my book where slithered and peered. Lemony Snicket used them when the Baudelaire's where sneaking into Madam Lulu's tent.

Last night I read Because of Mr. Terupt. Some good word choice I found was vast, constant and cycle. I think Rob Buyea really makes me want to know the characters in the book. He also makes me want to read all the time. I am on page 235 and I have about 33 pages to go.

I have text to text connections with Julie. She is cautions and is not always as brave as Lydia who is always "jumping in the game." Sometimes I am not up to a big adventure. Also I connect to Lydia because she loves acting and singing. I absolutely love preforming. FIN.

I am reading The Land of Stories, The Wishing Spell. I've noticed that Alex and Conner disagree and argue a lot. Me and my big brother always are doing that. I've also noticed that Alex and Conner are opposites. If one likes one thing, the other won't. Just like my brothers and I.
  • Asa C

Last night I read Dear Dumb Diary, Nobody's Perfect, I'm as Close as It Gets. I feel connected to Jamie Kelly, the main character. I connect to her because she is a girl with exciting storys and a funny personality you just can't miss. I feel that sometimes I can be that third person MAIN character and the layed back CHARACTER.
  • Asa C

Last night I read The Hostile Hospital, by Lemony Snicket. Some connections I made occurred with Klaus. The first connection I made was with Klaus. If I were trying to run away from V.F.D, and the cops who wanted them arrested, and the people who had read the false newspaper, I really wouldn't have thought about my self being in grave danger. FIN...

Last night I read The Carnivorous Carnival, by Lemony Snicket. I made a connection with Hugo, the hunchback. My connection with Hugo is that I would be extremely afraid and nervous if someone told me I was going to be fed to a pit of raging lions. In fact I think I would run far, far, far away from that person as possible and never ever see them again.
  • Asa C

Last night I read Because of Mr. Terupt by Rob Buyea. I have lots of connections with these characters. I think that if I picked a true friend from this book I would want Anna, Jessica, or Danielle to be my friend. Jeffrey really reminds me of a character from Wonder because he had a brother with Down syndrome and he always had to look out for him. Like Auggie's sister in Wonder. My last connection connects Alexia ( Lexie ) with one of my best friends. At first my friend was really unstable but then she realized that everyone liked her how she really was and so now she is really nice. I think Lexie will evolve into a nicer person and people will like her because she is her self.

To add LIKE fractions, you just have to add the numerators to get the answer because the denominators are the same. To add related fractions, you look at the denominators and see the relation between the both of them. Then, depending on what the denominators are, you change one of them so it's the same denominator as the the other. What you do to the denominator you have to do to the numerator, so which ever one you multiply you do the same to the numerator. Then you add them together.

Last night I read The Miserable Mill. I am at the part where the Baudelaire children are being forced to work in a lumber mill. I don't think children should be forced to work in a mill
or in that case to work at all. I think this series is for people who like suspenseful, books. I hope I enjoy the rest of the series!

I am reading The Series of Unfortunate Events. I am on page 143 of the 5th book, The Austere Academy. In my book I don't think that I have missed out on the story. Some of the strategies I use to figure out the meaning of words are... Re-reading the sentence. Sounding it out. Sometimes I even look at the vowels and consanents. I hope that other people love there books to.
