Body Type: Can You Morph? - 0 views

  •
Well I kinda gave away what this post is about right off of the bat. We are all blessed or cursed (depends on how you see it) with a natural body type. This largely due to our genetics (thanks mom and dad) and is something that is pretty much irreversible. There are three different body types classified as Ectomorph, Endomorph and Mesomorph. For most of us, mesomorph is ideal and pretty much the entire reason we hit the gym week in and out. Although we cannot reverse the way we were born and decide to come out a mesomorph, can we change it?

Real Interval Training - 0 views

  •
Recently, there seems to be a lot of buzz going on about interval training being very beneficial to weight loss and body composition. As I am a huge proponent of interval training I find that most people have a general idea of what interval training is but do not know the correct way to perform intervals. Many people believe that if they just go balls out for a while than relax for a while they are performing an interval. A true interval should be done based on an individual's heart rate.

Your Body Hates Weight Training - 1 views

  •
Alright, the title may be a little deceiving but when it comes down to it, it's true and hopefully grabbed your attention. The human body is designed to run in a status quo style where it is constantly attempting to stay at homeostasis. Homeostasis is defined as the tendency toward a relatively stable equilibrium between interdependent elements, esp. as maintained by physiological processes. Basically it wants to stay neutral, to stay level, to stay the same.

Mental skills personal experiment (4): Back on track - 0 views

  •
This is the third day I follow the whole plan, including breathing exercises, meditation, zhan zhuan and the scheduled workout. The first day is always a bit hard after I stop for more than a week, but I believe it is pretty much like training in general: people who have practiced before have some sort of "practical memory" and they recover their ability fast. In strength training, people have different (yet not sanctioned by the scientific community) names for this: muscle memory, neural memory and others.

Blurred vision, no appetite, extreme fatigue and mental confusion are only some of the symptoms. I only know I am hungry when my head feels heavy and I can't move - some weird hypoglycemic reaction to heat. Have no idea why.

Importance of Eccentric Training - 0 views

  •
First off let me begin by talking a little about what eccentric training actual is and means. An eccentric movement is a "yeilding" movement where you are allowing the weight to lower (most of the time). Concentric is the opposite of eccentric and is actually where you are attempting to overcome the weight in which you are using.

Back Out of Whack? - 0 views

  •
Many people that have suffered from back pain are very hesitant to train or exercise their low back because they feel as though it will "flare up". Although training the low back is essential in order to get rid of the low back pain, it is not the first place we need to look for help.
